cool.

finally.

a ramount dealer in spore!!!

hope the price is cheaper than ordering online and w/o the hassle of waiting.

Its not as cheap as if you get from the source (US) itself. So if you intend to get a quicky way, Sg is the way to go. If can wait, go get the unit in US. The difference is quite big, in the 10s.

You can try to get a quote from them, then check prices against amazon or the webby itself.

:thumb: yeah, i second that. Btw its available in spore now. Price pretty reasonable too. Just got some RAM stuffs from them today.

Check it out! http://www.jkcommercial.com.sg/

just spoke to JK, getting the RAM-B-309-6U :p

bad news is... his prices for RAM mounts will be going up by about 40% after May 09 (maybe good to act fast if wanna get one)

good news is... his prices for garmin sets are likely to come down soon, maybe wait a while if u r looking for one.

btw, he has 4 promo sets of 205W (local sets) left going at very attractive price if u dun need a waterproof set ;)

i'm also worried about that happening... especially along dark stretches of NS when touring up north.

very tempted to use resin glue to stick a secure/strong point on the unit's plastic body (won't damage waterproofing) so that i can hook a lanyard to the GPS unit. if it comes off the mount (or together with mount), at least it'll be dangling by the lanyard and not straight onto the roads.

looks aside, i'm worried about voiding the warranty... need to check

currently securing a lanyard to the mount but the worry is where lanyard holds the mount, but unit comes off the mount :faint:

This is how I secured my Nuvi 550 using a 20 lbs fishing line on the frame.

Take a look at the cradle it's much more solid than the original. The one that comes with the box is

more for cars. Now that my RAM mount is already in I can start to work on the mounting.

Had checked with him he does not have certain items in stock. If you don't want to wait then by all means order from him save the hassle of waiting.

It cost less than S$80 inclusive of freight for the whole set of RAM items. It consists of the cradle, mounts and long arm.

As I also had ordered other things from Amazon and the freight cost is actually spread out.

with USD now appreciated to 1.5, costs are likely higher

consolidating shipment with other purchases certainly helps

i decided to buy my RAM set from JK, paid S$115 in total for the convenience coz my estimates for buying from GPSCity says the savings are not worth the hassle

RAM-HOL-GA32U plastic holder = US$8.50

RAM-B-238U ball with diamond plate (2x US$5.12) = US$10.24

RAM-B-201U standard lenght 3" arm = US$10.37

RAM-B-309-6U reservior mount with double perm balls = US$11.97

Total = US$41.08

Option A: direct from GPSCity

International processing fee = US$7.95

International shipping (economy) = US$56

Total = US$105.03

(no need to convert already know outcome)

Option B: via VPostUSA (savings approx

Ground (economy) = US$8.06 (ship to VPostUSA, approx 1.8 lbs)

USD Sub-total 1 = US$49.14

SGD Sub-total 2 = approx S$76 (exchange + Visa fee)

VPostUSA shipment to Sg = approx S$22

Grand total = approx $98
