If i not wrong, Boon Siew is bring in the CBF 1000 next mth ( Nov ). Machine price not out yet but i spoke to one of the sales person on the phone and he told me roughly 19k+ OTR for 31 yr old insurance 2nd party.

I did enquire whether they consider bringing in the smaller bros ( 500 & 600 ) but seems to me like they dun intend to. Maybe those interested can call in to check again and post here to confirm.

The CBF 1k version comes with double exhaust.

Anyone knows of any other bike shops that bring in all the 3 versions of the CBF series? Cos i quite interested in the 500 or 600. The 500 looks almost like super 4 ( visual diff i think backside LED, pillion handle , rims and exhaust. ) .

If someone know of any bike shop that bring in the cbf 500 pls let me know cos planning to change to cbf500 in near future. other wise no choice got to buy the over populated super four . ( No offense to super4 riders. it's a really gd bike but too many of them on the rd. i hope to get somethin similiar that's y i like cbf 500 )

Glad to know there's someone who is interested in CBFs too.

I'm deciding between switching to CBF600S, CBF1000, or Yamaha's TDM900 after I get my Class 2 license next year.

But since the 1000 and the 600 weigh about the same, I think it's very much down to CBF1000 and TDM900.

Yes, but during the road test with the new and old Fazer 1000s, it was reported that the CBF has some ugly welding blobs at the pillion footpegs, and that some bits of the bike had already rusted after short use.

Also, the CBF gave the worst fuel economy during the test, averaging 39mpg, compared with the Fazer 1000's 42mpg and the FZ1 Fazer's 41mpg.

Hmm, why can't Honda give us something that's less thirsty?

tats sux...wat abt da 600...hopefully they wud rectify for the newer models

October's copy of BIKE states the fuel economy of CBF600S to be 47mpg, 1 mpg more than the 600cc Hornet.

I don't have the copy of BIKE with the CBF600S review though.

Which are you more interested in, the 1000cc or 600cc CBF?

Wa.. so many negative comments abt the CBF family. Dun tell me i really gotta change to the over populated super 4 ( no offense to super4 family ) cos not much road bikes from honda already . Unless i were to get the Hornet6 .

CBF600S seems pretty alright. It weighs about as much as a CB400 Bol'Dor and costs only a few grand more.

It's a friendly commuter and not an aggressive bike like the Hornet though. Depends on what you want, really.

The CBF600S came in last in the 'Multi-skilled Middleweights' test in the latest (November) issue of BIKE.

The bike is just overweight and weak, so the CBF600S is out of the picture now. :sian:

May get a new Suzuki SV650S instead. Cheap and good. :thumb:

I saw Mah motors exhibiting one (1000cc) in the Big Boyz Toy event at expo, i asked the salesmen, they say its about 18 - 19k machine price, but i heard reviews that this bike is very tame, the engine and horsepower not as good as the yamaha fazers (old and new version). I thought this machine should be Honda's answer to the fazers, apparently, this CBF series also got wack out of the run by the fazers.......hmm such a pity. :giddy:

Riding a bike isn't about peak horsepower.

There are so many aspects to biking and engine performance is just one of them.

Take the CBF1000 against old and new 07 Fazer. The CBF100 torque figures exceeded both fazer from tickover to ~5500rpm. This translate into a better or similar pull feel (if you take into account the heavier CBF) compared to the fazers. The CBF engine output lag from 6000rpm onwards.
