I think my bike its that time in its life that original parts need to be replaced!.

Lately been replacing the oil seals on a couple of places.

Replaced my front fork spring recently and I think my rear shock also need to be serviced.....

 

Aahhhhhh.....

 

Time to change ride?????????

hey, a friends XJR1300 got electrical problems otw back to Spore in Sg Buloh RNR.... seems that there's a problem with his battery.. like to know how much does a battery cost in spore.. he was quoted rm300++ for a new set... considering now...

I just called my workshop, original Yamaha cost $200++ and Yuasa cost about $130.

 

So RM300++ should be OK.

Chun, chun turned in to Sg Buloh, mampus....

 

Now bike at friend's workshop.

Electrical short-circuit must have killed the battery.

It was raining heavily at some places.

Managed to traced the fault.

 

Came back by bus, wow jam like crazy.

Left at 5pm reached at SG 1am.

sounds a bit like a problem similiar to abgsham's bike en route to Malacca with me. Then, upon reaching Machap R&R, the bike cannot start, push start also cannot. The engine was erratic too.

The bike was 'towed' back to Spore for S$200/-.

His rectifier, battery was found to be faulty & replaced.

 

that must be an experienced. to be in those shoes.

i shudder to think & is always hoped for the best.

u know, we can always do the servicing & all, but if it wanna 'go dead' midway the trip, i know it will.

dear all, my 1999 XJR400 is hard to start

i have changed all the plugs:dot:

 

then i check the fuel line from the tank - filter - carbs.

 

- from tank to filter ==> OK, fuel runs:thumb:

- from filter to carbs ==> not OK

- i have drained the fuel on the carb's tank but the fuel won't run there from the filter

 

i have suspicious this is the problem.. CMIIW, since the fuel rubber hose from the filter to the carbs is winding up (is that ok?). but before this, the bike runs fine with that winding up fuel hose.

 

the tank is half loaded..this is not a problem right?

 

i will try to by-pass the fuel line (remove the filter) and see if it works..but if not..i'm waiting for your suggestion please... :cry:

hard to start, meaning?

handstart & it goes cranking without starting? BUT will start thereafter?

1. tried the choke?

2. check batteries?

3. any blockage at the air filters's funnel(underneath the seat, above the battery)?

4. checked fuel ****/switch?

4a. checked fuel line/hose/ flow is normal eg fuel can flow downards?

4b. check carbs for overflowing?

5. service the carbs & retune?

My bike still in KL, haven't collected it yet.

Will be going up this weekend.

 

ASPhoon got a good offer for FZ6, 0% interest!!!!!

 

Saw a newer version of FZ6S, I think, at HL, awesome colour scheme and the front shield looked better.

 

Very tempting toooooooooooo

A newer version of FZ6? I think you meant XJ6 N / Diversion.

Don't tell me you wanna downgrade all the way to a 600cc?:(
