Does anyone know what are the accessories that can be added to XJR? Btw, for new owners, i was told by Yamaha service personnel that running in procedure for the 1st 1000KM is to ride not more than 5RPM. :bounce:

hey..since its better than super 4 then can i say tat going cdc to take 2A is easier than going to bbdc or even ssdc??

 

in what sense do u refer easier in? bare in mind, all schools have its pros & cons. also, XJR is much heavier machine then super 4. hard to manage if you are small size.

i mean the bike as well as the centers lor.. which centers easier to pass?? i onli choose btween bbdc and cdc... cdc is XJR and bbdc is hornet.. 2 total difference!!! one so light one so heavy..so does it mean that bbdc will be easier?? pls enlighten me

i took my tp at cdc. after pass, tried s4. to me it handles better than xjr. mayb due to the handle bar position. then again, the xjr there are brand new, bike wont die on u, usually. neway its ure call. (btw ubi and bukit batok on two ends of singapore, better to choose one near home...save petrol :D )

if tats the case then i shall go cdc liao leh... cos nearer...hhaha.. i just hope they not out to earn our money lor.. i scared they purposely fail u leh...sigh....cdc instructors more frenly or bbdc??

if the hornet in bbdc and the zeal(now no more) in cdc are the same bike, then that bike(hornet) is better in terms of doing the courses. i tried both the zeal and xjr. but zeal main problems is that the bike kena abused so much, the gear levers sum bent, rusty etc. :nono:

Hi.I new in SBF.I'm very attracted to the XJR.Very unique.Way better looking than previous years' models.I thinking of getting one when the COE of my PB1 expires.(in 2006) In my opinion every bike has its own character.From wat i noe this XJR has vtech so it has a close fight with the S4.Yamaha bikes are known for their torque while Honda for their performance.Suzuki are known for fast speeds.

XJR does not have a vtec engine. Thus, it does not need to wait till 6300rpm before the power kicks in. The XJR engine works similarly to the engine of Project Big One.

 

Difference between torque and performance is that torque engine has more pull away effect whilst performance is looking at the top speed. So, if you find that the bike is has more torque, then it means that its pull away effect is very strong but will lose out on top speed. Usually torque engine belongs to the twin family as compared to inline 4. That's why you realize twin engine like tdm, vstrom, vara, at etc has amazing pick up but not top speed.

Anyone rode older models of XJR before? I want to know wat are its cons/problems.The 2002 model one is still young so no feedback yet about its woes.maybe got to wait for a year plus or more down the road n see whether got anyone throw their bike back to the shops.Shops say it has racing components.A guy said it doesnt have vtech type engine,just standard one.

Can it be compared to Super4 in the line of R1 compared to CBR? Just curious.

just got an xjr for myself 2 days ago. the bike is excellent. handling, cornering, shock suspension, engine is not as heated as super 4 and so forth. the look is definitely surpassing super 4 anytime. furthermore, the bike has a manual reserve switch where even if the meter is not accurate, you don't have to worry abt no petrol.

 

pick up is better and the pull away factor is good. engine is more responsive than super 4 although super 4's engine is a better technology. xjr is good for modification as the engine is a basic inline 4 system. top speed don't know cause still running in.

 

to sum it all, i traded in my vtec super 4 for this xjr beauty.

 

anyone has the same bike? how is the running in process?

 

How abt did u got it for?

Insurance how much?

 

I am really really interested in getting this bike, simply love the butt and the tank. How does the exhaust sound....so big, like the sound wun be as quiet and good as S4 leh.

 

Tell me more abt the bike and running in.

tis design is a new one since 01 model and 02......

casio my running in was 3 stage.......800 1600 and 3000....

the speed i went was 70 to 80 b4 the first run in..... hitting ard 5 to 6 krpm

Shinigami, I would like to have a feel of the bike as well as discuss abt other aspects of this bike. I really love it the moment I saw it on the net.

 

Maybe not riding it, but at the veri least, sit on it and move ard wif engine off. I must like the sitting posture...I tried Project Big 1 and S4-II, dun really like the feel n sitting posture. Wonder if this one is good, wif it being higher and bigger tank.

during my class 2a was using this bike at cdc. i was complaining to instructor that bike very heavy, and he say super4 much more heavier. the looks very chio, taillight like R1. a lot of pple complaing saying that throttle response quite sensitive so a bit diff to do courses. but i must say acceration quite good. riding position wise...personally i dun like it cos the handle bar to high for me( used to spotbike position mah :D ). neway if u r short arnd 1.6m, may hav problems cos sum of my frens tip toe a bit.

the above r just opinions of a newbie 2a rider so sum of u may not agree but dun flame me lah... :D :D

 

From wat u state, I think being at 1.78m it would be a good choice for me over S4. I find most honda bikes handlebar too low for me, coz I got neck injury from a 10yr old accident, it is painful if I were to bend my head backwards too much.

the ones u see are probably the older versions which has exhaust similiar to s4 PB1

performance restrict i still not sure about it though ;)
