the ones u see are probably the older versions which has exhaust similiar to s4 PB1

performance restrict i still not sure about it though ;)

Well, the one I saw is a larger, tapered shape exhaust, unlike the one in the photo I attached in the above post.

hi all,

last wk i went to view a XJR400, 97 reg for sales..

the idle sound of the engine got "log log log log" sound...the owner said it the time belt or time chain loose liao...BUt once i CLUTCH IN and go on riding..the sound gone..but once i put neutral and clutch free...the sound is back..what HAPPENED????

then the tank got a dent, quit obvious..however i think its not buang caused...more like an object hit against it...

the bike except of this 2 major problem i dun see anithing wrong...the engine cover is scratchless, he got a engine guard thats y..haha

My qns to all xrj experienced personnel :

can anyone tell mi how much to repair the above mention problems???

the log log log sound super irritating

the sound is probably coming from the clutch housing

even mine now quite obvious

went down agent and the mechanic say its all the same for the xjrs so i guess probably so

for the dent u can try vitalmotor at amk

mine's got a dent in the tank too which after some time will get used to it and dun bother :D

tat i would not be sure wat would they do to the clutch maybe just tighten it up or something? cost wise i not sure too but if u were to go to yamaha svc centre it would be quite expensive. so maybe u can try asking ard some shops first see if they know of tis "problem" of xjr? :p

dun be bothered by that sound..Once the engine gets hotter, the sound would be negligible..

If you still wary of it, just go for a full servicing for the bike..(valve clearance, service cam chain, wash carbs, change air filter, oil filter, engine oil, plugs, new tyres, brake pads,etc...)

you\'ll live only once

How much it cost to sent for servicing?

And Shinigami how is the conditions of your bike now, have you done your valve clearance yet? How much it cost?

Thought of getting it.

Shinigami, you said that the bike is air-cooled, so what is the radiator in front of the exhaust pipe for? Is it an oil cooler? If so, is this a standard or an optional item that you install.
