woah.. it's a short qns that needs a long long answer..

1yr old DRZ normally selling at $10k with minimal accessories..

one thing you need to know about starting to track..

--- you must be ready to fall ---

Leathers are cheap nowadays..

for a set of gloves, boots and suit, abt $1k..

check the Mass Order section for Spirit Motorcycle Leathers

they looked nice and comes with a good price tag(set for

if you are more brand orientated..

Alpinestars set would most likely cost you abt $1.2K for a basic set, up till $2k+ for better models.

of cuz, better brands like Dainese will costs much more..

DRZ is a good start as it had a good posture and good suspension to start with..

going down with DRZ also had proven to be less costly than any 2A bikes..

a change of spockets of lower gear ratio needed for PG, else it's great for daily commuting and some fun at track..

religious monthly maintenance schedule will prevent any major issues like fried coil, worn clutch..

plus we are a friendly bunch..!

thanks a lot man biting point. i appreciate it so much. i'm still working my ass off to collect money. once i'm all ready,i'll get by here. hopefully i can see you guys go for tracking session. please do tell me=)

mcct can visually inspect.

acct and mcct is different in form.

as for jd jetting, no way you can know unless you open up the carb and check..

thks bro..can shops like UM..check for these kind of modifications?..

of cuz.. MCCT and ACCT looks very different.. search around for the pics..

JD jettings, like overcrash said.. only confirmed way is to open up..

do you experienced popping when decelerating? if no, most likely it's jetted..

else open up.. if not #25 pilot jet and red or blue needle.. means it's not jetted..

Bros,

I need abit of a help here.. Series of rectifying advices required pls.

My DRZ doesnt feel very torque'y as it used to be, infact its be rather buzzy like that of a CBR at 90-100, now is that good? along with that, the acceleration's rather slow, and there's this wierd shuffling sound going on infront.

lastly, I'm standing at 170, but my soles are able to touch the ground now (which wasnt the case in the past). I swear i didnt grow any heavier, could it be the suspensions giving way, it's rather bouncy now.

Help appreciated, thanks alot.

The shuffling sound going infront would probably be the pads touching the rotors. as for the suspension, check for oil leakage, you should be able to feel it from touching your suspensions. oil leakage will cause the suspensions to be bouncy.

worn out clutch plates will give you the gear1 clutch in still moving symptom, or at high revs, bike not accelerating faster, so called flat spot..

OEM ones will do.. depending the condition of your metal plates, normally you dun need to change them, just changing the clutch plates will do..

but if the metal plates are burned out, you will need to change them to new ones too.. whole set costs abt $250.. clutch plates only abt $80..

better ones like WISECO may cost up to $400 a set..

could be the brake pads got stuck or something.. or maybe the wheel bearings had worn out..

forks and suspension is wear and tear part..

might need to check for any leaks and may need to service them..

Hi John, I'm sucha noob cake, didnt wanna trouble you over the phone. lol! But in the end you still came to my rescue. haha.. Anyway, I thought it could wait as I havent been outta camp. Might wanna go down UM this week.

I dont sense anything wrong with the fork, they're fine as u've seen them the last time as well. Might be the rear sus. Then again GiamHe tweaked the suspension at mayo street, so maybe I'll head there to have them rectify it.

joe, don't worry too much. the symptoms of clutch plate wearing off varies. firstly, when is the last replacement? or it has never been replaced? for me, i knew the symptoms are there but it's not too bad. they are like difficult to get into neutral while stationary, even first gear standing, it doesn't move forward too much but then you feel that you need to rev more to get higher speed and it feels a bit sluggish and rough. i knew the clutch plate is gone but stubborn me i keep going. one fine day i went down to UM to fix my headlight, then i ask them for second opinion. the big guy, who usually touches my bike, tested it and agrees that the clutch plate is gone. heheh..so i decided to change it. to my surprise, not only the clutch plate, the metal plates between them also had some burned marks. $300 for all and after that, ride is back to its normal self......

so just go down and ask their opinion...they won't ask to change anything if there is nothing wrong.....few times i came back to rectify things or even change something without any charges.....so i trust them....:thumb:

do note frequent EO changes not only can prolong clutch plates, it also can prolong your coil life as burned up EO is not effective in cooling causing burned coil and clutch..

took out my clutch plates while changing the cam chain last week.. surprisingly they are still very new, thanks to my monthly oil change.. :D

compared to the first time i changed them out, all the friction and metal plates are totally burned out..

before anyone asks, I using Belray Thumper..

10-40 for normal rides as it's thinner and have better FC.

20-50 when going for track, thicker to protect.

Anw i would like to know where can i change my stock air filter to maxima profilter? i ask UM they doesnt sell it but instead they recommend me K&N. K&N is for track used am i rite? and 1 more thing what is the white tube below the air filter for? i saw people put some oil inside there and im wondering what is it. hehe. :)

why get a foam filter? K&N is a good road use filter..

it's reuseable and does not wear out like a foam filter..

foam filter will degenerate and crack out when you forget to clean and oil it..

whereas a paper filter like K&N works even without oiling..

look at my FAQ for more air filter queries..

what white tube?? is it a container??

those you see that got "oil", most prob never change their coolant..

so it's dark and slimy like oil..

that's a coolant overflow reservoir..
