abt the cam chain sound, your right abt the reving part got the chain sound like its loose ( but ofc not the one coming from ur rear sprocket one :p)

but if the bike got MCCT, can tighten the MCCT to 'tighten' the chain to get rid of that sound i believe so. Till cannot tighten need to change the cam chain or was it called timing chain.

FCR got 1,2,3 with 3 being latest. that one maybe bro john or uncle raptor can better explain to u, since i dun have. i'll just tell u what i know abt it :)

Usually beginners like me who just got onto a motard, not advisable to change to FCR carb cos of the day-and-night difference in power gain and also cos of the FC(if ur using for transport bike, er u may wanna reconsider getting it, btw with FCR, FC is ard 17-19km/l).

That being said, i believe ur a veteran rider compared to me, so you may wanna go for the mod if u feel the current stock carb not powerful enough for you bro.

a brand new FCR shld cost ard 860 w/o installation.

if still not power enough can consider hotcams stage 1, bigbore kit 440cc.

if still not enough, wah lau bro, time to upgrade to ducati hypermotard liao :D

btw jetting only required if u have an aftermarket exhaust or air filter fitted and the previous owner didnt jet thus causing frequent backfires.

er i believe jetting cost around 20-50 depending on who and which shop u go to loh.

You can try abboy racing's @ kallang.

Seeing quite a no. of good reviews from those who went to have their bike rejetted by uncle Raptor!

Hope i manage to help ya.

also check whether urs hav e PAIR removed. better to get that useless thingy out. mine is only 18km/L for my FCR carb. but e power is damn GOOD...!!!

definitely.. sacrificing the FC for the power is worthwhile..

wah 1 year + already liddat? oO kinda of fast.

mine is change the whole timing chain, cos like urs the mcct tighten to max liao cannot go any tighter. so when i hit 45-50k i changed it. cost me like 280 at magic motowerkz. other places i think slightly more than that man

it's also depends on riding style..

snapping of throttle happily will definitely reduce the cam chain life..

that being said, dont count on it hitting 200km sometimes :p cos for me i whack a lot initially when i got the bike so lowest i went was 137km before reserve on STOCK CARB wth xD. so far the best i gt was 175km before reserve. :)

you throttle happy lah.. i could hit 240km on my stock carb.. traveling 80kph on expressways with slow and smooth moving off..

high revving will result in poor FC..

Hehehe...... Uncle raptor always there izzit?

Anyone got trailing with their SM and where?

yupzz.. he's always at Abboy..

you can PM him here or find him there..

tried before.. not exact good with road tyres..

you may wanna get a set of offroad rims to try trailing..

hahaha. now more relax on the throttle liao. at most 110-120. small road 60-80. these few days can see the FC hitting 25-28km/l at a steady rate. ^^

definitely worth sacrificing..!!! my next mod will be changing stock disc brake to BRAKING disc brake. e mech at unique told me tat my bike is too powerful for e stock disc brake to handle. but til now i still dun have e chance to fully utilize e power. just hope tat i will hav e chance to meet up wif all e pros here to increase my knowledge on Zee...there is still a lot of stuff tat i m not aware of....

Braking upgrades are worthwhile..

you may also wanna consider to save up a bit more for 320mm rotor on Brambo caliper instead of just upgrading your stock 310mm to Braking..

do join meetups for sharing..

anyway, saw that your avatar is a SGP and THD flag intercrossing and your status being Long Live The King..

any chances you are a Thai-Sing or??

there's a few Zee riders that's almost half-Thai here..

if ur getting BRAKING just get the front bro, dun need to get one set. btw, one front rotor 450. lol. I believe the braking caliper more impt if u really need more braking power like what biting pt said. btw brembo caliper quite the expensive, IIRC ard 500+ for a cast alum and the price goes higher for CNC- machined billet aluminium kinds.

That being said, there are a lot of ppl who mentioned that brembo braking calipers + 320mm BRAKING front rotor + BRAKING brake disc pads is overkill unless your a GOD on the tracks. oh well different ppl different opinion.

Right now, on ur FCR DRZ, when u brake do u have an issue stopping and not overshooting when the traffic lights turn red suddenly? If not, OEM is good to go, i feel. btw there's other brands to consider if ur low on budget or think that brembo overkill is to get berlinger, motomaster(not sure if it fits on DRZ need to check). do consider investing in HEL steel braided brake lines if it hasnt been done.

As for me losing out on the power, to each their own preference. i dun have the means to maintain a FCR DRZ with its low FC, so no pt get the power YET. i'd like to slowly savour the beauty of this machine and im still young. got lotsa of time, no rush. haha.

not shooting ya, but i feel its 60% rider skills and 40% bike optimal equipments. i dun like to install parts which will mod the bike to a different extent. Its like playing a game when u train from lvl 1 till 100, enduring and learning the process bit by bit, going at ur own pace. however, if simply getting a powerful bike and insane mods right from the start is like playing a game and instead of lvling from 1 - 100 and learning the whole process, u skip jump to lv 100 making you strong and powerful but w/o knowledge and control behind it. Though in a game, u can die and restart from a certain point if u need practice to master the char(bike), whereas on the street, no restart point leh haha.

I believe that there are those who share my POV abt going it at our own pace and those who share ur POV abt thirsting for the power.

it also took me for almost 2 years before buying a FCR for my Zee..

buying FCR was actually my first intended mod when i bought the bike, but i managed to subdue the demon within for 2 years before succumbing to it.. :D

bracket doesnt cost a lot. its ard 450 for the front only if u order thru bike shop. other places may be cheaper but its w/o installation price.

310mm BRAKING disc is direct replacement if on stock caliper.

If 320mm BRAKING disc, need a relocator for stock caliper. BRAKING has the relocator.

I had mine fixed at Unique, 320mm BRAKING SK front disc with BRAKING relocator.

I personally feel that if running on stock carb, 320mm disc is enough already :D

i normally use ron95..

but once pumped Vpower SG, noticeable smoother acceleration, other than that nothing..

anyway it's butt dynoed, so not really accurate..

i believe you can go as low as ron89 or even ron87 in USA if your compression ratio is still at 11.3:1,

unless of cuz you mod it to 12.2:1 then maybe ron95 or ron98 is needed..
