Hi,

I was wondering what would be a good brake system for 2B sportbikes like KRR?

Reason for asking is that i used to ride a KRR, but didnt like the brake efficiency (maybe its me that didnt brake correctly but i just feel safer with a better brake system) and am looking for bikes options once i get back to SG.

I am thinking of getting either a regular KRR and installing a better brake system, or get an aprilia RS125 since it comes with brembo system breaks and bigger wheels thus the stability? (Im not sure about this but does all model of RS125 come with brembo system breaks?)

I read somewhere in the forum that an OEM Brembo brakes system would cost about $500<.>

Just like to hear some opinions/ answers about the brake systems available for 2B bikes..

thanks! :cheeky:

the stock braking system is good enough . . could it be your pads, brake fluid or something? i think for a start you could try changing to better pads and steel hose to see the difference.

sometimes, racing footrest kind of cripple the rear brake as well

doesnt seem very normal to me for having poor braking efficiency for krr. i could be wrong although

Well im not sure, i've stopped riding for awhile already since im overseas. So if i were to get a KRR, the standard list of items to do for my brakes would be changing to a better pads, replacing to steel hose?

What/how does the steel hose helps?

Pardon my ignorance, just interested to learn more!

thanks for any advices/opinions!

think you can think the brake pump to a bigger size, am using size 16 brake pump for my SP, braking effect is better but it cost about 400+ for it

steel hose will keep the same diameter when the brake system heat up as you ride hard n use lots of brake while normal hose might become a little bit bigger. You'll feel your brake level become softer n require longer level stroke to output same brake force, but i dun think on s'pore road will hav chance to reach tat point neh.

A good set of pad is worth to purchase, can provide better initial bite and linear grip also can work till higher temp. No need to buy the race level pad cos they need higher working temp, hard to maintain on the road and when they're relatively cold might not as much grip as the road level gd pads.

If you want better feedback of control, Brake master will be the key. 16*18 radial master is very good for one 2/4 piston calipers, but too ex liao. try loking for NISSIN 12.7mm master used by HRC rs125 NF4 model, that one is very very good and low profile not draw too much unnessery attantion :)

Thanks for all inputs! definitely expand my knowledge of the braking systems. Got another question tho, no offence to any krr/rs125 riders, what is the difference comparing a stock krr brake system to a stock rs125 brembo brake system if any?
