Anyone know which shop I can go to to do boring and honing of cylinders? It's a 1100cc cylinder block. I need a reliable machine shop with the proper tools and machineries, preferably done by someone who's an expert in this field instead.

Thanks!

It ain't going to be 1100cc anymore, so you'd need a larger piston + piston ring set.

I know Honda always has two sizes for their pistons to cater for this, not sure about Kawasaki.

Why don't you just get the cylinders off a scrap bike?

sorry i didn't make myself clear. it's actually a 1052cc block. i'm only getting a 1mm oversize pistons, which comes to 1080cc. funny how bike manufacturers name their bikes cc.

an old block would have cylinders wear that is not going to give u long engine life and the block may be warped for all u know. it may be cheap to get a scrap block but it may be prove costlier when things start breaking down.

besides, i have four seized pistons that needs to be replaced.

Have you considered aftermarket kits?

I do not know of any reliable local engine work, but there are plenty of excellent kits available in the US, but you gotta send in your cylinder block to trade.

There are many shops that provide such services locally. There is a machining shop at Blk 10, Sin Ming Industrial Estate, they overhaul marine engines and generators. Few years back, I took my block for honing, cost me $25 for a single cylinder engine.
