its out but its just beta version available for downloads from microsoft website..

surely not recommended to use this beta and its still same UI as Vista..

Posted

They are just launching the beta version for beta tester..

Windows 7 is gonna be based on Vista platform...IMO, Vista is just a guinea pig system..

Wow, new OS? Never heard of it.

Hope it will be good and I'll be able to get a new desktop!

heard win7 wont be that taxing on resources.

i doubt most will upgrade from vista.

just dont understand why they launch so many OS within a 5 year period zzz

Naw,

not really.

Its a sort of a major Service Pack for Vista.

It will have some features removed and simplified. Like UAC as well as trying to keep the gigantic hardware requirement low.

For those who wanna be negative about Windows 7, yeah you can comment that it's an operating system to cover the mistakes of Vista.

Windows don't give you eXtra Problems (XP) meh

I'm hoping "Windows (codename) 7" does not go down the WinME road though.

WinME was just Win98 with a makeover; a revamp work that made all your favourite apps and all the devices you previously bought incompatible.

Tried Windows 7 and the difference between vista and windows 7 is the touch facility. Both OS using the same kernel. Experience it in VMServer, virual pc or dual boot now!

Since Microsoft has officialized production 32/64 bits Windows Server 2008 (same as vista). Its quite stabalized and also across our inter-sites (production). :)

I know some of us rely on the computer for simple stuff such as typing documents, looking at spreadsheets, or presentations, and the like.

However, when you start playing graphics intensive games like this:

http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/2383/normaleiger1zq3.jpg http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/338/halowars200707130521219ep0.jpg

...or when you do intensive 3D modelling (CAD)

http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5343/spr2tf0.jpg

...i betcha you'll be asking for more RAM.

These games and apps slow down even the fastest desktop computers on the planet if they don't have enough RAM.

P.S.: I'm not sure whether the 3GB RAM limit has been resolved in Vista, can anyone advise?
