Installing a kick starter will put an end to all your damp starter troubles.

Am shipping in a new 122 engine from Rotax without the starter motor but with a kick starter instead. Will cost around S$3,800 including shipping. Just requires registration with the authorities for the new engine case.

Those interested, PM me. We can share the cost of shipping.

Alternatively, you can order the kick starter set from Rotax to be retrofitted onto your bikes. This is relatively cheap and you wont find yourself push-starting your bike at a traffic light with angry motorists behind you again.

I am seldom in SG these days, so do be patient. It may take a while for me to check my PMs.

Cheers.

this bike (airbrush painting) has installed Polini 154cc, carb 34mm with Boyesen reed valve, tune something, front sprocket 17teeth, rear 40teeth, ECU de-restricted , top speed >180km/h (tested).

To maintenance your power valve, you should clean exhaust valve each 1000km and lubricate cable + valve body. Some our bike got big problems from this valve

When your valve is broken, it will be physically identified by the separate pieces when removed from the exhaust port. :cheeky:

If you're lazy, the symptoms would be lack of power above 9,000rpm, and rpm hovers at 9,500 instead of climbing steadily to 11,500rpm.

The water seeps into the starter motor from the mating point at the top of the starter motor cover to the engine casing, not the bottom, hence covering the unit itself wont work. Drilling a hole at the bottom of the cover is a temporary fix. Water will still get seep in, this time more prevalent since there is a gaping hole at the bottom, but it can drain out after a while. This is NOT a permanent solution.

Change the s.motor cover and seals.

Again, the best solution is to do away with the starter motor altogether. Installing the kickstarter will cost u no more than S$200.

Khoa,

180kph is clocked by a car or onboard speedometer? :p

My bike's 10yrs old but still runs 30km/litre and clocks 190kph based on the onboard speedo. However, only 170kph if measured next to a car.

yoz bro didn't heard from u in a very long while liao . . . hows ur job now? btw if fixing in the kick starter is really less then $200 I am more than interested bro . . . hahahahaha . . . . :cheeky:

Job's ok... I only have about 8 days in SG per month. Most of the time am overseas. No time to touch my bike. Anyway, no one comes for my DIY sessions despite plenty of advance notice, so quite obvious the kids here all too pampered, not used to light labour and getting hands dirty. Which is fine, since most youths quite guniang. Run 2km also can die. haha... I dont want anyone dying at my DIY session after removing 1 valve. Surely got plenty of paperwork to write.

You want Oakleys? Can buy them cheaper from the US.

Of course its cheap to install the kickstarter. I think most mechs will charge $150-180 for opening the engine case to fit it in. Our engines already have the port prefabricated. Just need to cut through that hole.
