bro . . . if like that then u didn't apply wat u learn from the driving school to use . . . how r u suppose to move off from slope? rev up rite? so don't say about rs125 if I give u bbdc bike u also got problem moving off or climbing slope . . . . u r suppose to rev up high . . .

I think you fellas here should give me the benefit of the doubt that since I can manage to post coherent statements in this forum (unlike some people here), I should also have an IQ that is at least greater than that of an amoeba. Moreover, I have a couple of years of riding experience (and more than 7 years of driving experience) with varied bike and car models. Not that I think it is anything remarkable at all of course, but it's definitely enough evidence to assume that I am not a trash-talking 16 year old biker wannabe and I should know how to move off from a slope and how to change gears. Sigh.

now its u don't get me rite . . . don't u think its the same as u travel 20km/h but use 4 gear on a straight road . . ..

Is it that hard to see the obvious?

Moving off in 1st gear from standstill is definitely not the same as travelling at 20km/h on 4th gear. There is greater inertia (look up your physics text) when you are at standstill and you are on 1st gear not 4th gear. Those are different circumstances.

In any case, if you failed to grasp my earlier remarks, I was making a point that with the stock RS 125 '06, with the low torque at low revs compared to say, the CBR 125 or the 4-stroke test center bikes, you need to be MUCH more attentive to feathering the clutch and throttle to get a high enough RPM for it to move off from standstill if you compare to other bikes. This issue is compounded when you have a pillion (ie, more weight = more inertia). Even more so if you are moving off up slope. Beginners might have a slight problem. This is simple enough to understand, no?

That's not to say that the RS 125 "sucks" or anything, it's just a characteristic of race replicas like these to have more power at the high-end, which I think beginners need to get used to.

Listen to him guys. :D

He's right. When you ride a no-compromise race rep, you get all the strengths and shortcomings of a no-compromise race rep.

sigh . . . . :sian: hard to explain also . . . anyway I study physics also but long time return teacher liao, in fact most of the stuff I return also . . . but the fact is I am not trying to put a physics lesson for all . . . maybe the way I try to explain is poor due to the poor command of english (sorry I am not the smart smart study type) anyway I am more of a straight forward layman . . . to me cannot move off steep slope at 6k rev then I move off at 7k? 8k? or even 9k rev if needed to . . . the fact is not to pin point any mistake for anybody . . . the post is to tell u . . . bike is design differently for different purpose . . .

the below statement is not to pin point u its for me to explain things . . . sorry if u feel its offending . . .

example :a new bike u bought be it any bike . . . u have to get use to it . . . u don't blame ur bike for being hard to ride . . . if u have rode any bike before simple knowledge of knowing where the powerband is should be easy for u . . . always ride within the powerband if u want ur bike to have the consistant power and moving off slope . . . if one is a keen learner there is nothing too hard for the person to learn and master their bike . . .

hi bro to be frank I am also not any expert I am just a regular forumer who post base on mine and some other fellow riders experiences . . . after I pass out from driving centre who is a total beginner rs125 is my very first bike, other than a stronger braking power compare to the bbdc bike, to learn how to control the bike is not that difficult . . . I also not the person who have 7 or 8 years of riding experiences but I am also not the person who is still holding "p" plate . . . I know wat I am talking about also . . . why I pointed out the stupid 20km/h in 4 gear is to let u know u r traveling way out of ur powerband . . . same as u r on the slope when u move off . . . anyway I ride a stock bike before I have no problem moving up slope on mount faber . . . thats when I am still getting use to the bike for just a few days but went with a group of aprilian for outing but obviously I am the last and the slowest to reach the top compare to the rest who zoom up in high rev . . . but still the baby went up nice and smooth with a stock 28mm carb on 1st gear without any problems . . .

we also have ladies who ride mito which have not much differents compare to rs here who can also control their baby well so I don't see why rs125 can be any harder to control for a beginner as well . . . remember u control the bike not the bike tell u wat to do and control u . . .

for maintenance wise . . . if one don't want to get their hands dirty, don't want to learn and master about the bike always push in the bikeshop will not have much knowledge of their own bike cos one nvr want to "talk" to their baby . . . in the end the money throw in to tune, maintenance and change aftermaket performance parts thinking it will make the bike fly will be alot . . . anyway for a stock bike regular change of gear oil, topping up of 2t and washing of valve for those who don't want their hands to be dirty the amount spend is almost the same as any 2 stroke bike . . . thats if one don't accident if the bike is damage in accident of cos backside tear lah . . . I believe not only rs125 . . . other bikes when badly damage also have to spend a bomb . . .

anyway like I say its not to pin point u or to say who is right or wrong . . . just try hard to explain to make things clear . . .

if u can maybe u can join us for the gathering session tomorrow also . . .

cheers . . . :cheer:
