And people, I'm selling my '03 RS. Its on the Used Bike Sale Section.

 

God dammit Now i'm contemplating selling due to the amount of activity on this damn thread!! I thought everyone was like dying out and i felt drifted. Suddenly everyone's posting again! God dammit.

Class 3 = 02/07/2002

well my bike is in e hospital cos one of my cylinder block got scratched.. ouch man

so no ride till e ops is over..

 

why not one day we organise a trip to permas jaya n go karting.. or how about a nite soccer game at e cage?

Nah, please allow me to clarify - JR is not a bad company. I said I got 'conned' because I was assured they had 2008 tires, but the guy the workshop sent to pick them up did not verify this at the warehouse.

 

So my bike got fitted with the 2006 tires and I only just inspected and found out. :(

 

It's my fault for not inspecting the tires before picking up my bike.

 

*shrugs* Oh well, no problem. Tires, if properly stored can be kept in cold storage for about 4-5 years. It's only when fitted and ridden on, that they will harden very quickly due to the heat cycles.

 

Also, all this talk about jets and seizures made me reassess my risk appetite for running ultra-lean jets (yeah, funny huh, I made myself nervous about seizures) and I have richened my jets. My fuel consumption is now a miserable 24-30km/L depending on how heavy I am on my throttle. Ugh!

 

I have also found that increasing the spark plug heat rating (higher value, hence its cooler) makes my plug foul faster. I have a theory that the lower temperatures inside the engine does not burn off the carbon deposits as well, hence faster fouling. Any other ideas, anyone?

 

After 11 days of no activity, my bike fired up on the first crank (as it usually does), but stalled after 5 minutes of idling.

 

Sigh... Back to the tuning table :dozed:
