Hi to all Aprilian, just to check with you guys riding RS125 06 to 10 model, do your valve jamed once every 2 months? I m using motul 2T and while riding I only reach 7k rpm when i riding on expressway. Some techician from some of the workshop told me to prevent the valve from jaming, i need to ride at 8K to 9K rpm to open the valve offen so not to jamed the valve. Izzit true?

And also, anyone here service their valve DIY? would like to learn.

Thanks

06 RS125 White/Red

Im new to aprilia rs 125 but i've rode 2-strokes for awhile.

In case I do say something wrong, i apologise and seek to be thought by the gurus here. :)

If you ride 'normally', your valve should last for quite sometime as proven by most aprilians here. If you are already riding 'normally' and service regularly, but the problem persist, my opinion is your engine block, specifically the sitting area for the valve.

The area I just mentioned mayb defect (wear n tear, hairline cracks, etc.), such that it effects your valve operations causing the valve to break or jam. the best solution is to find a new engine block. the other more cheaper option is just to change the valve everytime it jams. but long run more ex.

In any case, while I do personally recommend to learn the DIYs, you can also find the one person most of us here go-to to for any servicing/repairs to get his view on your situation.

Just my 2 cents.

How come on a Thursday noon ?

Have to work :(

You work 24-hour shift?

Can't come for the evening session?

How come Thursday, well that's because I'm out of the country for the rest of the time. The only day I am in Singapore is on Thursday 10 June.

If you can't make it come back next month.

Can i know what tools and solvents to bring?

Lessons:

1) Dont panic. Panic make you cannot use brain

2) Dont dream on the road :faint: ...

3) Look at where you're going and your own bike ... dont peep at others one :dot:

Whatever allen keys, screwdriver, pliers, wrenches.

A methanol-based degreaser which won't leave a residue behind; a multi-purpose solvent like WD-40, or GT-85, and the likes.

Bring rags and a small container in which you can wash your valve.

DIY Session 1 - 10 June 1000-1400hrs

DIY Session 2 - 10 June 2100hrs-0200hrs followed by supper

Venue: 21 Joo Seng Road S360021

Bring: tools, rags, solvents

You will work on your own bike. You will get your hands dirty. You will perspire profusely. You will learn to curse and swear like a man. You will get your skin cut and punctured. You will not be able to wash the industrial grease out for at least 3 days.

You will learn something called responsibility for your own bike.

Gen Y gu-niangs need not apply. Spoon-fed kids who expect the world to revolve around them need not apply. Strawberry egos need not apply. Those too lazy to learn how to utilize resources like map-reading need not apply.

Yeah, he bought the bike as a toy bike, put some miles on it during the few months he rode it, then stopped riding it ever since.

Or, he just run the bike on track only. :)

Still track-virgin.

I think I found a place to stay for this trip.

Its an apartment somewhere north of KL. But travelling time from the location to Sepang International Circuit is less then 1hr journey.

Very upbeat area, tons of restaurants, eateries, entertainment.

The place can hold 4 person to an apartment comfortably. So if we got 8 people again, can split into 2 apts. Cost is around 80 sgd per person.

For those interested, got a few options la. If got car and car licence, can drive up, wanna ride bike up also can.

I've posted on R125 thread for my buddies there to see and ask if they wanna join up and go together.
