Your bike is in need of an overhaul.. Most probably full overhaul. The new model comes with a self checking diagnostic program inbuilt into the CDI and it's reflected in the digital meter.

If your bike is brand new, it's indeed a rare occurance. Prepare about $2000 for repairs.

Its a reminder for you to service your bike. its preset in the Aprilia brain. Some of the workshop know how to reset.

Not sure any senior here knows how to reset ourself.

u guys very bad ah.

anyway, hi mster7unlucky. pls report ur name! welcome to aprilia.

spanner indicator is telling u that u are scheduled for maintainence as u have reached a certain milelage. if u just bought the bike, it might have been 800 the icon flashes and gone, and den 900 it will be fixed there. after u send ur bike to the distributor, they will remove it for u after the servicing as well.

BUT, all this are discreet. u will not know what they have done. drop me an sms, if u like to be watching ur bike as ppl service it, and also know inside tips of how to remove the logo. hehehe.

which gear indicator u bought? the gp chrono or the gipro. gipro is better as lag time is the minimal.

i just got my bike back from servicing ytd. did it at teck thye. i had a siezed valve.

apparently, the prev owner didn't service the bike for quite awhile.

the difference is definitely there, power, pickup. my ride is much smoother.

but now, when im on the road, i notice that when i rev till my valve opens, my temp drops drastically. at times the digital board showing "c o l d".

is it supposed to be this way?

I have that before.. and shortly after i had a flat battery.. i think my case is just the psycological effect of wanting to give her up... or maybe my bike is having PMS.. I might just give it a good tip top service and hand it over to whoever is good enuff to its second owner..

please dun sell. i've yet to meet up with you guys, and you're going =(

please emerge from the shadows of reading only and post!

you left so early that day on your last day, didn't get the chance to take your contact.

my phone was mostly surrendered when we were on shift, then kept on delaying.

until your last day, still didn't take. lol

Hi Guys, can anyone help me by explaining to me as to why my brand new Aprilia RS125 make a hissing sound whenever I apply the front brake? Just wondering if there is a problem with the brake in the first place. Thanks.

Hissing sound when you brake hard or lightly?

If it's when you brake lightly - it's OK. If the sound is more significant in sudden and hard braking - check for scratch marks on the brake discs ... Small stones or some foreign material could be caught in the brake pad

Hmmmm, wonder if it will be run like PG or Sepang...:cheeky:

Anyway, here's my 2 cents' worth.

Taking a page from how everything else is done in Singapore, it may be run like Sepang at first, before it degenerates into the likes of PG...

I have a wild idea how it may all play out. But it's just a theory. :cheeky:

The track may be Grade 2, but it is a $280 million project. Initial costs are high and investors will pressure SG Changi to see ROI. On top of international races, they will open the track to public and private sessions at a reasonable price. This will attract a lot of support from local groups. But after a while, they will realise that local trackies are willing to pay for the convenience of using a local track, even if it costs a little more. They will get greedy and raise the entry fee/hourly usage fee.

This will make the investors happy, but it won't be too hot among the locals.

Local trackies may include a large number of newbies, who may crash and damage the track. Those trackies required to pay for repairs may be saddled with hefty repair bills, thus ensuring their exile from the track. The track may also have to close unexpectedly for maintenance and repair work after bad accidents.

From the social standpoint, the victims' families may demand the governing body to look into track safety and safeguards like valid racing licenses and experience/timing-based certification to segregate riders of different skill levels, and may require newbies to take a longer time in training/beginner sessions or lessons before moving up to intermediate/open level racing. This will put some people off as they will be required to spend more money getting certification instead of just racing.

The Changi Circuit trackies group may then start to thin, as newbies are discriminated against, riders who have crashed before are required to compensate for the damage caused before being able to use the track again etc.

Profits will start to go into investors' and management's pockets, instead of promotion of local events. With higher fees and more politics in play, local trackies will decide it's not worth their while, and they would prefer to return to their roots - PG and Sepang.

The SG Changi may lose its local supporters and as profits dwindle, conditions get worse, and they will try to recover by charging even more. By now they may realise that the initial entry/hourly fee may have been under priced, as the fees collected do not seem to be enough to cover regular maintenance and line their pockets at the same time.

Eventually the management will decide that the only financially viable events that will sustain the track will be MotoGP and other GP races, and will only open the track to those events. Even if they do open the track to local trackies, they may have to be certified to be able to use the track, or are required to produce proof that they have a lot of track time, so as to minimise accidents, repairs, down-time etc.

If repairs are constantly put off, eventually the conditions of the track will deteriorate and the venue will also be dropped from MotoGP. With no events nor enough local supporters to sustain the track, it may close within 5 years of opening, be taken over by another group, and/or run as a cheap degraded local track like PG.

Just a thought... :cheeky:

I'm hoping all the above doesn't come to pass, as I do hope to be using the track till I'm old and grey. :D

The hissing sound occurs when I brake lightly. Schwein, thanks for the info.
