Hey Chung dropped you an SMS. I have many questions,

Here are some from the back of my head. Which 2T to use, premix or 2T box? Which tires to change once my current ones go bare or pose potential dangers. As well as the periodical maintenance I need to do.

When the winds resist my impetus and sights become passing shadows. Every other sound is voided, all but the undeniable roar of my engine.

My physical vision recepts naught, but my mind is tranquil.

I see my inner soul.

Did you mean the aquatex series, any idea what size for my RS125? Wish to bring around my cover, how compactly can it pack to, possible to fit into my helmet bag or bike compartment?

Thanks,

Tim

NO, I actually said and meant the Rainex series.

It will not fit into your bike storage.

But this one will: Pro-Series Geza Cover. I ordered 2 sets for both bikes. To be used while on touring up north in Malaysai. They have not yet been shipped out. If you want to purchase one, you can piggyback your order on mine so that we save on shipping. Do let me know asap though, cos once they ship my order it will be too late.

Pardon my ignorance, was looking through motoworld's online catalogue. Well, my main concern would be to cover up my bike while I park it during the weekdays so I believe getting the Rainex will be sufficient for the time-being, factor in the cost and shipping delay.

Which size of the rain cover should I get?

Thank you for your patience.

You can ask the Motoworld staff to show you the covers. Not all merchandise sold there are shown on their website. I don't remember which size I am using for my bikes. Please check with the staff.

To return your paintwork to its original shine, you might wanna check with shadantou or Subzero. They have some awesome solvents and techniques to hone the dull finish to a high gloss. They're the best in the business, and their prices are very reasonable. I'm planning to meet up with them some time to have them work my bike over to recover its original gleam.

As for sandpapering and applying a new coat, let that be the last resort.

I will be working on my bikes on the 15 Sep.

Thanks for the support Lawrence!

I'm looking forward to working on your bike. When do you want to make an appt? After you get the suspension sorted out?

Msg me your Sept schedule dude, so I know when you're in town! :)

For 2T premix - i mix synthetic bandung syrup and Shell Mineral 2T.. ratio 1/20.

Hi guys, i just got a new front fairing with pair of baffles from Sporting Motors aka another sister branch of main Aprilia shop at Lavender - you know what that means.. Total about $800+$100+$100++. Red colour with Delotto design. Spraying over.. Confirmed first hand but .. gear lever + choke lever + speedometer sensor($110) are 'first hand' too. More parts coming in soon..

Mech there is very task-orientated but lack social power.. Not as friendly as Ah Seng where he is able to explain faults and recommend remedies. Mech also doesnt like it when im watching him.. Sigh.. Prices are quoted via sales representative there - friendly guys..

Nice looking custom handle bar balancers there too selling @ $58. Im tempted.. EBC brake pads @ $30.

Overall, so far - decent workmanship. Met an RSV rider there and chatted about how hot it gets while riding an RSV4..

Ride safe..!

Prices seem alright. Just slightly marked up, but gotta include shipping if you order from overseas.

But the money you spent, $1000, just for the complete head fairing, you could have ordered a whole race fairings set from 37 motoring. Head, side and tail. :)

Hey you're welcome. Both your bikes are testimony to your efforts and workmanship. I'm envious every time you both show up!

Am going to be very busy over the next few weeks, so can only meet you guys in October, after my new fairings are in. I am also getting my 2nd bike ready for a patch job and respray, so again, will wait till the fairings are done.

What I would like is to get my frame polished. I want it mirror-finished, like yours!

Mech uneasy when watched = guilty conscience, he is a wife-beater (I mean, he treats bikes like doo-doo)

Social skills not requirement for mechs, as small talk is overrated. BUT he must be able to explain what he is doing. This is an important factor to me because I KNOW what the mech is doing. Which means, I know when he is doing something he is not supposed to be doing. Most mechs don't like it when you point out their faults.

Yes, the prices are steep. I'm poor and not charitable, that's why I stay away from sharks who try to fleece me.

Yes, but I will be very busy to finish a long To-Do list and may not be able to help you out all the time. I will be expecting you to try to solve most of your own problems, and will step in only when it is critical. Ok with you?

Thanks.. I strongly concur. Been reading up your posts as of recently and i felt as though i've 'leveled' up digesting em information.

Thanks for the advice too to Subzero. I'll learn from my mistakes.. Anyway im not paying, claiming full damages from a mad driver that brushed my front fairing a bit only :)

Ride safe..!

Ok guys, time to break out the tools.

I am stuck in a difficult situation at the moment. I have no access to my bikes. I need this information before 0800hrs 12 Sep 2010, Sunday.

I urgently need info on our thermistor, also known as the temperature sensor for our cylinder head. It is found next to the spark plug. I need to know:

1. the diameter of the internal screw thread

2. the size of the hex wrench required to open it

If you can get me this info, you will save me a lot of time and some money from an online purchase which requires this specifications.

Anyone who can provide this info before the deadline will receive SGD20.00 from me. No prizes for partial answers though!

3 weeks after getting my 3 year old rs125, ive got my first problem. lol

Hope someone can advise.

Tried to start it today but the electric starter wouldnt work, the panel and lights work fine, just the starter. When i push the button, no sound at all. Is there something i can do on location or no choice but to tow? Anyone got a contact for a tow truck? :) Was thinking of sending to TT, do they have a towing service?

Any idea of the cost im going to incur?

Thanks guys!

Should be a flat battery.. Worst case starter motor spoilt.

Battery should be about $50? Just pray it's not the starter motor.

Hey fellas. I remember reading a post a while back (by Sub Zero I think) that suggested that most of you experienced RS125 riders only ride the bike rarely (alluding to the fragile nature of the bike). I couldn't tell if you were joking :) I got my 08 RS125 as a weekend toy a few months back and currently limit my ride to a few hours in the weekend. So far one minor breakdown that the shop fixed immediately. Since then (two months ago), all running smoothly - fingers crossed.

Unfortunately the 'fragile' impression of the bike is still there for me. I wring the motor's neck after it's properly warmed up every so often - I've been told by another RS owner that this is good for the bike. I'm guessing this somehow reduces the chances of unwanted deposits in the engine/exhaust (please let me know if I'm wrong!). Other than that, I consciously handle the bike with care and constantly plead with her not to break down on me. Reminds me of what the Top Gear guys always say about owning an Alfa Romeo - passion, soul etc etc because it can and will break down on you.
