Even with my starter motor replaced, i find it hard to get a cold engine running in the shortest possible time. Any tips on what I should and should not do?

Do-It-Yourself. Lawrence here is the master of DIY (:

Thanks for the compliments but there are others here who are also masters of their own hand.

I'd be very interested in a weekend DIY session if you're ever free Lawrence ...

Ok, bring lube and Kleenex.

I want the Asso-Werks piston. hahaha

I have too many cylinders, but not enough pistons!

I ordered the starter motor with mesaboogie at pjme some time ago.. Replaced it at Ah Seng when he quoted me about the same for a second hand starter motor.. You might get my old starter motor as i 'donated' it there.. It still works fine just with a squeaky horn sound when you press the electric start.

First hand @ SG$130+ after conversion.

Suf, any review of the PJME starter motor? How is it? Thanks!

still somewhere onboard some plane/truck in some land far far away from singapore. yet to receive it. i alr ordered the 140 kit and i got a guy from tjtuning to sell me a 2nd hand cylinder which came off a 2009 model for 100 pounds so i figured i wont be needing this now. u might be wondering how i got myself into this mess.

Well first i spent 2 weeks scouring the web for a 2nd hand cylinder. Found nothing until i chanced upon that brand new one. So thought for a few days between a bbk and that then decided to buy it. Later on the very same day i placed my order, the guy i pm-ed on tjtuning like 2-3weeks back replied to me saying he got a good cond 2nd hand cylinder. so i though why not, since its super cheap. THEN, few days later i chked out adrenalin pedstop and found out that the 140kit was going pretty cheap as well(250pounds as to pjme's 297pounds). Few more days of thinking and i decided to get it. so yeah, if u were wondering. haha.

on second though i could have used the money for the brand new cylinder and 2nd hand one to get brand new ohlins for my bike. ugh.

I also master. in fact much higher level than lawrence. If lawrence master i grand master. I'll prove to u.

Im so skillful i forgot to put back my 2T tube after diy-ing. Not enough proof? 2 weeks later, after a top overhaul which took forever, i f**ked up a brand new piston and newly polished cylinder coz of a stupid $1 circlip. Still not enough proof? Wait another 2 weeks and watch out for updates on me f**king up a brand new big bore kit =D

they say only fools learn from their own mistakes, the wise learn from the mistakes of others. But theres also a saying which says that to be old and wise, one must be young and foolish first. I guess i agree more with the latter. haha

I miss feeling the wind in my face and cursing at reckless drivers. Hopefully i can get back on the road soon. If not i might have to find another use for my left middle finger =/

juz spreading the joys and pleasures of DIY bro. hahahaha

Hopefully i wont have to conduct a MO for that anytime soon. If i do then a montage of a f**ked up italkit cylinder will accompany it.

Yup. It's very quick and easy, usually takes about 10-15 minutes. It is free of charge as it is a simple job.

Yo lawrence, all these talks suddenly reminded me that not long ago, i used a steel brush which is used for cleaning rifle barrels to petrol clean my valve. And it seems to be leaving scratch marks on my valve.

Sth like this,

So i was wondering, could steel brush be too hard for cleaning the valve? I was looking at alternatives like Brass brush as it's alot softer but i'm unsure whether it will ended up leaving any chemical on my valve.
