ur still lacking lightweight wheels. and in terms of stock engine urs is probably one of the best in the SG market now, but theres always the seldom explored frontier of porting and things like lightened crank, flywheel and race ignition. So i would say the buyer of ur bike still has a teeny weeny room of play to make the bike better =D

Marchesini SP rims are hard to come by as they are over 10 years old and even if I could get a pair I have qualms about putting them on. You won't know when they just might give out from fatigue.

As for porting, big bore kits, altered ignition, etc been there, done that. Unreliable and short-lived. Lightened crank and flywheel am going to get the SP version's but I'm worried it might not fit and I can't seem to get any info on that (fitting the SP kickstarter, crank and flywheel to my 122 engine)

I still feel that when it comes to engine, stock is best. And I recently overhauled, so... :)

I know, lol. It's just harder to imagine when you put block and round together could be just me though :)

Yes your bike rides so well now, your asking price should be higher. Its even better than buying a new bike, because it is tuned already. :D

Hi guys I'm thinking of setting up my 34mm myself, anything I should take note of other than change manifold, replace carb, plug and play?

find a well tune 34mm take his jet setting first. than slowly fine tune to suit ur riding. setting a carb is no joke if u are unaware about the jet sizes and needle position. ya and plug ur 2t hose if u are not on premix.

Have you gotten your licence?

Anyways, this is the following list of costs to install my 34mm so far.

Racing carburetor 34mm vertical slide with vacuum tap for >06 models.

£170, £35 for manifold.

= SG$420

Installation, clean & tune: $80

Mainjet: $10

Atomizer: $40

Total costs: $550

Satisfaction level: A grin everytime I ride thus far.

I know I could get it cheaper at WEDA, probably $7, $25 respectively but I'm just far too lazy to go the distance to save a little.

Settings: K57, 40 pilot/slow(this can and should be lowered to 38 to remove the slight drag in the lower rpm range of 4-6k. 158 main. 160 was too rich. Airbox with snorkel w/o filter.

Also I have been trying a range of 2t oils for premix so far and unfortunately as my 2t bottle was misplaced and the nearby esso only carried synthetic oils with minerals meaning non full synthetic, I tried Mobil extra 2t.

Mobil extra 2t: temperature was crazy high, engine was not producing good power, alot of friction, I could hear it. My engine was not pulling nicely. Bad.

Motul 710: lower viscosity then the below 2ts reviewed, mixes rather well with fuel so I didn't need to shake the tank when I came back 24 days later.

MobilOne 2T: Just tried this, pulls slightly better than the motul 710, temperature lower as well, pronably because of the better flow rate and the thinness of the liquid as compared to the motul.

Torco GP7: just got this today. Gonna try it and get back to you guys.

Just curious, how do you know? Have you personally tried Lawrence's bike? Or is it just an assumption based on the fact that Lawrence is our resident DIY guru, and one of the most experienced guys in this thread? :)

I believe it's the barrel that holds the piston is round, but the actual engine block is more squarish, is it not? :)

Tim, is the MobilOne 2T the one that coss $24plus at petrol kisoks? I'm using the one that costs $24plus, i'm using the 2T pump, and also for premix on a friend's bike previously, and it was good stuff. And I'm pretty sure it's fully synthetic. Will update when I get my next bottle pretty soon. ;)

Yeah, I LOL-ed when I read his post because it's also the truth.

Yeah, I'd think it the assumption that my bike is good just because I can get 2:00 at PG with 30km/l? hahaha...

Anyway, I'm sure there are other bikes that ride really well, like Najib's and Eddy's.

actually come to think of it, its more rectangle-ish =D

actually couple of factors. The fact that his bike is DIY-ed, meaning more TLC involved, which also leads to the assumption it gets worked on more, seeing that its practically free to DIY. And also based on some wanking of his throttle. Exceptionally light throttle and very good throttle response, easily the best ive ever wanked among the bikes ive tried wanking before. So all these leads me to make the hypothesis that its one of the better stock engines in SG right now. Did i use the word correctly there? =D Bt to be fair i nvr wanked ur bike before, so if i do get the opportunity to one day, maybe i can make a better judgement. haha

ANYWAY vik. Wana ask u. Have u had any experience with flat top pistons before? The italkit bbk is OOS on pjme, so Im thinking of buying the flat piston n head. But still considering btw the twin ring or single ring piston. Seeing that i can bring down the squish to 1mm, Im thinking theres quite abit of power gains to be made. Plus im gona be porting my cylinder. But im worried 98 octane fuel wont be enough to ensure theres no detonation. Means must top up Vpower all the time = DIEEEE.

I am selling a slightly chipped carbon fibre front mudguard for the 2003 RS125 for $50. As for exhausts, can ask Vik. He spoke of a good deal for a stainless steel exhaust for $450 the last time I was at his place. :D

Btw, does anyone want a cordless drill? Great for simple DIY jobs or for cleaning the bike- just attach the buffing cloths to the drill for quick and painless buffing and polishing.

FOC. Just collect it from my home.

Ashraf, do you want it?
