actually couple of factors. The fact that his bike is DIY-ed, meaning more TLC involved, which also leads to the assumption it gets worked on more, seeing that its practically free to DIY. And also based on some wanking of his throttle. Exceptionally light throttle and very good throttle response, easily the best ive ever wanked among the bikes ive tried wanking before. So all these leads me to make the hypothesis that its one of the better stock engines in SG right now. Did i use the word correctly there? =D Bt to be fair i nvr wanked ur bike before, so if i do get the opportunity to one day, maybe i can make a better judgement. haha

 

I see, so wanking of the throttle, as you so eloquently put it, will feedback on the condition and performance of the bike? I get what you mean. In that case, you should try 'wanking' liquidy's bike. It's the most response throttle response I've felt before.. Even better than eddy, sharul and nageeb's bikes(All of which I have ridden before). However, Mr Liquidy says it's very bogey all the way to the higher RPM, even though it felt so reponsive on neutral gear. Maybe he's just being modest. Hehe.

 

My bike is lousy bro. Damn slow, running lean, still working out settings.. Btw, do you still have that size 40 sprocket you supposed to sell me??

 

ANYWAY vik. Wana ask u. Have u had any experience with flat top pistons before? The italkit bbk is OOS on pjme, so Im thinking of buying the flat piston n head. But still considering btw the twin ring or single ring piston. Seeing that i can bring down the squish to 1mm, Im thinking theres quite abit of power gains to be made. Plus im gona be porting my cylinder. But im worried 98 octane fuel wont be enough to ensure theres no detonation. Means must top up Vpower all the time = DIEEEE.

 

I havent had experience with flat top pistons. Never tried. I think xxes123 and law can advise better. The single ring results in more power gain, but at the expense of increased wear and tear. There's always a trade off for performance. Damn PJME. When is the italkit in stock anyway?? Did you ask them? Or they have to order it in each time someone places an order thru them?? Btw, have you received your stock block that costs $600??

 

I am selling a slightly chipped carbon fibre front mudguard for the 2003 RS125 for $50. As for exhausts, can ask Vik. He spoke of a good deal for a stainless steel exhaust for $450 the last time I was at his place.

Btw, does anyone want a cordless drill? Great for simple DIY jobs or for cleaning the bike- just attach the buffing cloths to the drill for quick and painless buffing and polishing.

haha i always agree reality is a cruel mother. and bikes are either stock, lemon or monster. anyway if who ever is buying a bike shud know that some money for wear n tear is unavoidable. so i guess some one who dont wan a monster either end up with a lemon or stock, forking more so that they can learn and grow it that way. haha i guess its better to pre-inform those newbie before the have a seize n start to have a cry when the price is reveal to them. maybe they stay in semi D bungalow or condo can afford but for me this entire yr wasnt an easy time. haha

With all due respect dude, my bike is nowhere near that definition at all.

 

I've ridden side by side with Ashraf when we were on the way back from Seletar dam, and while he looks like he's riding with ease, mine was struggling trying to keep up. Same goes for Eddy's ride. He was with a pillion, and mine was struggling, having to drop gear just to keep up with his bike. Vik's bike is fast cos i've tried it before. I just don't know why he says it's damned slow (no disrespect to u boss!).

 

I can only do minor diy with my bike. However, no matter how many times i read up on how to tune the bike and which jets to use and for what purpose, i always f*** it up. Someday, i have to pay someone to really sit down and drill the basics into my head. At this point of time, i really thank my mech for understanding what i need from my bike, though he still haven't solved my ride's top end problem.

Any one following the Malaysian Super Series (MSS) in Sepang? I have a friend taking part, his first time in Sepang, and he did pretty good. His best lap recorded was just 5sec off Dr Dol's best lap. See if you can spot any other riders you might know.

 

Note. Dr Dol is Number 46 Shaiful.

Dont be so humble la Nageeb! Your bike is one of the smoothest I've ever ridden. And my bike is also slow!! You know I always complain I cant launch my bike. How to be fast like that?? it needs alot of work bro. Hehe. Anyway, i thought you settled your top end issue?? What is it about? Maybe Law can help you out with the settings!

Aiyah bro, I never said your bike was slow ma.. I just questioned Ash's judgement seeing that he never really tested your bike whatttt.. And i say it again.. My bike is sloww.. It's like riding a scrambler!! But not top end! headache! Always have to shift gears so fast! Tiresome!

06 models onwards are the sharp looking design where else pre 05 are slight rounder and fatter. For pre 05 and exact 06 models are slightly more powerful than 07 onwards models at stock due to its RAVE unit (sth to do with valve) being different. However, the power issues can go away when u rolled up at a thick stack of 100dollars notes and pass it to the few well known mechanic.

 

Or simply buy vteclee bike (pre 05), @ page 961 i think.

 

A word of advice, remember to factor in the "cost of bike" + "cost of insurance, pls find out yourself" + "cost of road tax, around 60 per year" + "a 1000bucks spare cash, for repairs & garage membership fees" + "2T oil + Fuel(stock @ 25km/l)" before you make your leap of faith.
