umm this is incorrect. it wont work for the new aprilia with the PIAGGIO cdi. if u open up ur seat and see that theres 2 "cdi"(one is ur rave unit the other is the cdi) then ur cdi can be modded.

 

anyway if ur interested in a racing cdi i have one which i might want to sell. its the HPI dual map cdi

It wont fit if yours is the Piaggio model CDI. Just go do the CDI mod. And before that, tune up your bike nicely. :)

oh ya. he needs the zeeltronic cdi. and since thats the case, his cdi is not the cut and break mod, its the drill hole mod.

Below is my vid of the PG session on Thursday. Watch in full HD (1080p) if you can!

 

I went with the philosophy that Lawrence mentioned earlier - the capital 'F' must be on 'Fun' not 'Fast'. What a difference it made. My first track outing I took WAY too seriously and didn't really enjoy it. I criticized myself too much on and off the track. On Thursday I went out to have fun. I tried to stick to good lines but if I didn't, I didn't really let it affect me. I didn't give a rat's a*s about my lap time, or impressing anyone other than the kid within me. I just tried to get comfortable on the bike (i.e. improved body position, loose on the bars, weighting pegs and gripping tank) and go as fast as I felt was within my boundaries. As a result, I think I rode with a clear head and everything fell into place. I have much to improve on, but good Lord did I have fun.

 

I will also openly admit that I went with the silly goal of scraping my knee pucks. Yes, I know scraping knee pucks is not a goal in itself, speed is the goal, etc etc etc. I still believe this to be the case, but there's something to be said about the feeling you get when the puck is scraping.

 

If you haven't been to the track and will be going soon, I hope you will try not to worry about what people want you to do. Relax and take it easy and you will have the time of your life. If you want advice, read some iconic books on the subject (Twist of the Wrist I and II by Keith Code, and Performance Riding Techniques by Andy Ibbott, and others). Then try practising them on the track, but don't take it all too seriously. Unless of course you're looking to be a professional racer - ignore everything I say if that's the case. :D

 

PS: My thanks to my track buddy Lawrence for good, like-thinking company, and Vik for suggesting a drop in tyre pressure, which really helped matters. :thumb:

I haven't got the time to get new tires, new crash bobbins, and stick new GoPro mounts on different parts of my bike yet.

 

And you do know that is a really ridiculous proposition there, suggesting to riders here that that should read books on motorcycling.

Hey guys anyone needs/wants to overhaul their bike? We talked about doing it together back then, i dunno or have you all done it already??

 

Would love to join to improve my knowledge and for future benefits :cheer: I can offer a 2nd source of photography :) not so much about filming, as I'm still debating between different HD cameras (damn, why do they need to make so many different HD cameras!).

overhauled today.. rode back from 37 along PIE, read somewhere before that during run in, keep rpm around 5k... but very difficult...i try to maintain 6.5k in 6th gear, speed around 80km/h, still feel like road hogging.... how could you guys maintain 5k rpm in highway??
