I ride very safe leh.. Always ride on the left most lane when possible, ride in centre of the lane keeping 1 to 1.5 car length behind other vehicles. Today got 1 white car come tailgate me and horn me all the way, overtook me and wind down his window and gave me some hand gestures.. piss off man..

I realise cars also like to lane change by squeezing into my lane and "push me to the side of the lane..

eh anyone here age ard 22-24, more than 3 years riding experience. can share how much ur insurance is? I called up axa and ntuc to enquire abt TPFT coverage. AXA quote me $670 and NTUC quote me $1050. How come the price so far off. But anyway looks like i will be going for AXA this year.

AXA now take insurance for RS125 bikes?? wow...always been told that only ntuc willing to take and is not cheap compare to others..

AXA has always done insurance for RS 125 but they dont do for P-platers and must be above 21(this one im nt quite sure). The only company who do it for P-platers is ntuc.

IMO, when on a bike, its safer to b overtaking dan being overtaken...

1st when ur fast, u dun have to worry abt whether ur hogging up e rd cuz ur overtaking everyone

2nd, u can ride in e centre of e lane making urself more visible

3rd, it trains ur mind to think ahead keeping u focused

4th, our bikes are'nt meant to b ridden slow... problems like jammed valves, soaked exhaust packings n excess carbon build up in e expansion chamber will start arising

5th, riding in e power band means better throttle response, no sputtering, no bogging n smooth power delivery... stuck at 5-6k rpm, keep ur needle 7k n above n u can 4get abt tt prob

so there u have it... 5 gd reasons to ride fast... bear in mind when i say ride fast, i dun mean blast pass everyone wif ur valve open, unless ur tt confident in ur braking system, i suggest u keep e valve closed. tis post issin meant to b directed at anyone specific. its only meant to share my view.

waddaya think guys? riding fast vs riding slow?

the one and only...

Faster and faster until you hit redline is the safest way to ride.

I ride in the redline every day, rain or shine. No accidents. The ONE time I ride slowly, I hit a Merc and broke my leg.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

actually to this i largely agree. When i ride fast and am squeezing past vehicles on the expressway, my concentration is at the max, and im focused only on the road and vehicles in front of me. However theres a distinct line between being fast and being reckless. Theres openings that gives u 100% chance to get through, 70% to get through or 50-50 chance to get through. Personally i almost never go for 50-50 chances and i avoid squeezing between buses and lorries.

The most important statement i learnt about riding was told to me by a friend of mine. He said that in any situation, if u feel confident then go for it, but if you are having doubts on whether u can make it, then dont, coz ur doubt will impair ur riding ability. Ive lived with this rule ever since and have so far been safe and accident free.

hello all. recently bought my rs125 over from vyruz! got much to learn from you guys.

Hey matey! Welcome to the forum! You'll learn a LOT of great info here and also some pretty sh!t ones as well. On the whole the guys here are very helpful and I am grateful for the guidance I got. I recommend using the search function as much as you can - there is a whole load of useful information in old posts. And don't forget to read through the manual!

waddaya think guys? riding fast vs riding slow?

I agree with mesa's viewpoint: as fast as you're comfortable with so you're alert but not entering into the zone where you have doubts. I think this usually means riding at 70-80% of your abilities. If you're at 100% and one variable changes, there wouldn't be any spare focus to react to it.

Law, your video is similar to my video below. I know I look like a girl there but it was a difficult emo stage of life where I dressed in leather and slicked my hair back often.

Hi all riders..

Guess I'm too tide down with my project and stuff so need to relax and spare my time with my machine.Just thinking of making a meet up and meet all the guys here fellow aprilianz to cruise ard Singapore and chat.. Like to know suitable date maybe you guys can think of and how many guys interested?

Just an idea if no respond then i can plan on other project.. Thx

A meetup will be arranged after Mid September. It's in the works. After fastin month, visitings etc. Stay tuned. Of course, those who are disliked by me would know not to show up. Because it'll be a good time to educate the new riders on all the conmen and scum that hang around the aprilia thread. :)

Good buy. Knowledge is power, do some reading up on your own. And read the old posts, you'll know who talks the BS, who's been here for long and who's the one who loves to carry balls.

Enjoy your ride.

ANY FOOL CAN HOLD A TIGER BY THE BALLS, BUT IT TAKES A HERO TO KEEP ON SQUEEZING. And I am that f*cking hero...

Don't think I'll get another go at PG matey. I'm off to LTA later this afternoon to collect my $ and transfer the bike to its new owner.

:cheeky: on the outside, on the inside.

New owner is going to love the bike. I took it for one last spin yesterday and was impressed with the acceleration in the powerband (it's fully derestricted now). Bear in mind I'm 87kg. New owner is something like 45kg.

Earliest I'll be leaving is end of this year, but realistically looking more like late January 2012 (which is only about five months away).

Rent a track bike la.... u can if u want to, while u still here....and EYBIS will be here 7th Oct in PG.
