Mr dUde/elroy, the shop name is 37 Motoring. It's located at the same block as Ideal (who was the aprilia and KTM agent way back in the early 2000). Just pass by Ideal, then turn left at the junction ahead. U'll definitely see a few aprilias outside. The shop is at the back.

anyone noe where i can get cheap suits or if any store is having any sale? I kinda have my eye on either the Dainese Laguna Seca or the Alpinestars SP-1. But im kinda worried about buying off the shelf suits coz im kinda small size. Another option i was thinking about is getting a custom made suit from Spirit leather, but their prices seem to have been on the rise lately. When they first started out my friend got a custom made to measure one for $550. Last i checked their prices now start from $900 for a custom made to measure one.

Then comes the dilemma. At the price point of the Dainese and Alpinestars( around $1.2-1.4K if im nt wrong) Spirit does a K-leather suit around the same price range. If possible i would like to spend sub thousand. Thats why im wondering if theres any sale. But if im going to have to spend more than $1k then i might as well go all the way and get the Spirit K-leather. I know theres a Dainese store but which store brings in Alpinestars?

What do u guys think?

Anyway what do u

yo i was told u were looking for suits n i manage to find yer post.. so lets see...lets go back in time .. couple years back, many trackies were using Alpinestar and many change for various reasons and 1 of the main reason is there are many "replicas" now.. even if u are wearing the top of the range GP pro or GP Tech, it can be mistaken as a fake, u dont wanna be spending $400 on a glove and the guy comes up next to u and say .. Eh this 1 u buy from so n so only $180 right? i seen the "replica" and 1 glance , u cant tell the diff but put it on a table, it will show its ugly self.. :D.. now for suit... how in the world can an A* sells for $500? unless its some really outdated model or odd sizes... give u a hint if u a size 60, u can even buy the really old model @ $400 or less. look @ the suit , u buying a modern race suit, a suit thats able to handle modern day speed... so the critical point to look for,in my view anyway... speed hump.. the latest A* have little humps which surprised me, i dont have the slightest clue why they made mini camel back now.. the early camelback purposes is the 1 we all know is to minimise damage to the spine . its now evolve into a gigantic humpback whale..the other purpose now is to prevent yer head from whipping backwards to the point of no return.and during a fall , while sliding on yer back the hump allows yer upper torso to be lifted off the ground and if u have good presence of mind u can use the elbow to slow the sliding effect, thats the reason for have titanium/magnesuim sliders on elbows,( its not for protecting yer elbows as many thought it to be, theres already a CE armour in there) it allows u to slide without getting caught on the tarmac and flipping u over, so if the suit doesnt have elbow knee shoulder sliders, chances of leather sliding on tarmac, due to friction ,it might get caught and flip u over....so if u ask me... bite the bullet and get a good suit... :p

RJs.. ideal for beginners, i recommend it to newbies who wants to taste track and at that speed they going, RJays sud be able to handle a slow speed crash BUT chances of leather rubbing yer skin till its raw is likely.. the quality of the RJays leathers is rough, so in a slide the inside of the suit might scratch u ..

Dainese.. good quality stuff... but prices have increase lately... u mention abt the laguna seca... which one? laguna seca or the latest laguna seca 2? Dainese is tops level but i cant seem to bring myself to get 1.. which comes to the 1 that i feel gives value for money...

Berik...i been using A* for quite awhile till i change to Berik,(thank you,Candy..God Bless her Soul)

I have the Berik Caprirossi, K skin .. heres another thing many ppl are mistaken, K skin doesnt mean 100% K skin... no leather suits are made 100% boing boing skin.. its only the upper torso, the lower part is still moo moo skin..wearing boing boing skin makes u feel snug and comfy and u able to move yr upper torso more easily then moo moo skin. moo moo needs to be run in awhile before it gets comfy, BUT K skin is not as tough as moo moo.. i fell in my Berik, and the K skin on my forearm area was ripped apart .. K skin is very good for comfort but lifespan is short. I recently change my suit and decided on Arlen Ness ( they are same as berik) its the 2012 model where mods are made to the pressure point areas of the suit..and im sticking to them for 1 main reason those HUGE humpback..it really really helps during an impact..

my guess is u sud be a between size.. 46-48 ... if u looking at customised suits like Spirit or SRS, let me know, I have a SRS custom suit(some some reason or other) and having used them , theres some areas that need some improvement..if u keen,i can arrange for u to meet them, and the price is not exactly what u stated... SRS & Spirit leathers are owned by local racers, things do change when u actually KNOW someone instead of claiming to know someone. or if u wanna take the plunge and go for it.. try Gimoto custom,.. but its gonna cost u ..

long story sia!!!

anyway my 1st choice of boots and glove are the A* GP Tech and the A* GP Pro and the AGV Ti Tech (because its the only helmet with size M/L) .. i feel sorry for the sad state it has become in Singapore.I have tried dainese pro torque, sidi vertice, knox handriod yet nothing beats the A* for boots and glove, i now purchased my A* and AGVs in Bangkok... pricing is way higher but im assured im getting the real deal.

u have a good budget, avoid the bargain basement n save a little more and get the quality suits..btw with yr sub thous' u r able to get them a damn good suit.. :D

oh last min edited.. before anyone wanna start debating abt A* camel back... take a look at their top level Race Replica, the humps are wider apart but still smaller than the A* the Moto GP guys wear..

thx for the informative post larry. I'll drop by ur shop one day and have a chat about u regarding the suits. I guess of all the people here u must have probably gone through the most riding gears so i guess ur the right person to ask abt these stuff.

Anyway i already emailed Spirit and they quoted me $700 for their baseline custom suit and $1.2k for the baseline K-leather suit. Frankly im more inclined towards the K-leather since i've read and heard that they're lighter and more comfy. Comfort is my no.1 concern coz i wore a cheap suit before(the one in my sig) and it was really a hinderance and i couldnt get into the proper posture to take corners and stuff. And taking into consideration that it was a borrowed suit, it was a little on the big side and the lower half was baggy. This made the sliders sit a good 2-3inches below my knee so i had to pull up the lower half causing it to crumple at the groin area and cause a hell load of discomfort. Simply said, i spent a good 8 hellish hours in the suit(from morning, ride up to PG, then riding back in the evening. Oh plus we had dinner at coffee shop in riding gear too) Sooo, i dont mind spending abit more for a suit that fits well and is comfortable. Branding and other stuff is a lesser priority, though i really really love that Dainese logo on the hump.

Interesting.. Would love to take a look.

Mazzies? The stock forks are also made by them. Unless yours are aftermarket, which are fully adjustable. Are your fork caps flat or they have knobs to adjust, like a screw head to turn?

Looks stock to me, unless I can take a closer look. Bike looks familiar, and looks good too.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your ride. May I ask what is it they have to 'do up'?

Which shop are you buying from?

Yup, it'll be good to bring it to Ah Seng for a full service. Wash carb, valve, and change gearoil. I wouldnt trust most bikeshops that sell their bikes to get it in tiptop shape. Might be dropping by Ah Seng next week, maybe I might see you there. :)

Whoa if he's selling that price, my bike is underpriced alrdy sia. Should sell for 11k cash alrdy. :(

No, your bike should be worth atleast 17K man. If Lawrence can set the price as 17K, and sell off for 15K, it's no issue for you to sell much higher. You have almost everything he has, plus an awesome paintwork.

If you really wanted to sell bro, you should part out the bike.. Vyruz bike was sold soo fast, and he had minimal mods. You should have done the same. Alot of people who cant afford to, but will act interested in your parts. There will be some who can really afford it. So you could have cleared your goodies that way. Dibs on the forks!!(Just to be a cunt, and make sure nobody else gets it. hehe)

I wanna part out, but my stock stuff all sold off alrdy mah. A few guys approached me for the 3 items (u know what they are) wanting to swap and topup cash. But there's no guarantee that my bike can be sold as stock even after i part with the parts. A fcuked up bikeshop just quoted me 4.5k all in, as is. Crazy mofos. So guess i'll hold onto it. Prolly next year buy another bike after the aprilia is totally done up. Then see what happens next to this aprilia.
