Perhaps if you guys were expecting more to turn up, in future, gatherings could be planned ahead?

I usually give you guys a week's notice for DIYs, but for last minute supper gatherings, I dont expect many to turn up due to the last minute notice through SMS.

Some initiative to inform other members through SMS or by calling would be greatly appreciated.....

No everyone can be like you guys, sit in front of the computer 24hrs a day waiting for someone to suggest a gathering and then rush right out at a moment's notice to meet...

Anyway Wilson is organizing to send a bunch of 10 or so blocks (KTM, Aprilia etc) to the USA for welding, reboring and nicosil plating. hmm i dunno whether is it worth..

yet there are some people out there getting polini kits and stuffs just to squeeze a few more hp out of their machine..

so these is just 1 of the alternative..

 

i think a few more hp on our light bike does make quite a difference...

Before you get a RS250, consider this, there are no more spare parts left. Anyway our bikes are not desgined for speed(est. 23Nm of torque at 10,500rpm), our bike belong to the track, where we can easily catch up with more powerful cc bikes on corners, and put it to shame:thumb:

wah.. still rem mi arh.. great!! i read this forum everyday actually (few times somemore) its juz tt i don reallly post much... n now i cannot add myself to the active list cos my aprilia is gone for 2 freaking mths.. tking torturous public transport... tts y hope i will get the rs 250 asap n den i have the face to add myself to the active list... hee... now no bike still on the arc already paisei le... haha.. at least still in inactive list nv kena kick out... hee... joking...

When i said that i meant it locally, it's very hard to find spare parts. Of course you can find pple that will bring in the parts for you if you know where to find or you can get it at ebay but generally RS250 stopped production at 03, so it will definately be harder to get parts locally, unless you willing to import it from the UK,Italy or whatever.

 

It's sad because i want try a 250 once im my life time, and what a better 250 than a Aprilia?

 

PS: i'm not sure about this but i heard you can use certain parts of a RSV on the RS250

i think so.. Aprilia just bought the 125 & 250 engine design and fitted it onto their 125 and 250 series..

Spider, that's rubbish! How can rs250 be "an engineering perfection"? There are so many other good bikes around, why do you guys even bother with an Aprilia 250? Tsk tsk tsk. So expensive, and so many problems.

 

Advice to all: Don't buy an Aprilia!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh, unless you're crazy like some of us. I love tearing up the tarmac when my valves open. I love flying off from traffic lights. I love the way it banks around the corners, even with one hand on the handlebars.

 

Who the hell corners with one hand? Trust me, you need to master this skill when you ride an Aprilia. The other hand you need to use to wave at people on the street admiring your bike.

Anyway, I'm concentrating on riding my KTM for the moment and I might fit some motard rims to it early to mid next month if the prilly is still in the shop. It gives me a good excuse.

 

Gf is making steady progress with her licence and I hope she should pass late July, early August and then i'll let her ride the CBR150 and get a DRZ400 Motard for my daily rider. Good thing is the rims for DRZ and KTM are interchangeable. *GRIN*

Going up to Sepang for Track Day - 10, 11, 12 June....

Bikes will be sent up, while we sit comfortable in a air-conditioned car... hehehehe

I'm probably the slowest bike here... All other bikes are R1. Even when I'm maxed out at 180kph, they're gonna pass me at 280kph, it'll make me feel like I'm standing still.

 

I just changed my gear oil, brake pads, topped up 2T, added a little into the tank, took out the silly signal lights and mirrors... Now it bears slight resemblance to an actual track bike.... haahhaha... Actually it looks nothing like a track bike. Still very tame.

 

Next time I'll be organising Track Days for Aprilians to Pasir Gudang.

We'll have a DIY session on the day before going up. Then we'll have a 14 ft truck pick up our bikes, probably can hold 8 bikes. We'll rent a van to send us all up to PG.

 

I have a pit in Pasir Gudang, so we can make last minute adjustments to your bikes there... can lock all your stuff in the pit and not have to worry about it.

 

Wish I could bring you guys along, but sadly, the transport is full.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning and will be riding up with a friend. Won't be taking my RS250 though but my other yellow bike.
