hey bernard, thanks for the explanation..

the reason why I find that it's a problem to me.. cos when I rode my old Y2K, I really can feel the power surge and the feeling is woooooaahhh.. hehe.. my old Y2K's valve opens @ 6K..

and also thanks for the manual, saw the diagram.. but it never explains how to set it to change the rpm for the valve to open.. guess have to ask ah boon to check it out for me.. or bernard, you know how to do it??

then how is the setting lean dangerous, and cause piston to jam??

well eh, not exactly right, basically what i know is the solenoid is the thing that controls the valve via electrics.

when the bike is started, the valve opens immediately, this is to allow for acceleration when needed - e.g. full throttle from 0. when the bike moves at rpm hits 2500 rpm, the valve closes to give the bike more torque at low rpms (2.5k - 8k) so that it wouldn't be so sluggish at this rev range.

at 8k it then opens again, this is probably when ur trying to go fast, so it opens up.

the 7k delay i think he's probably referring to the CDI restriction but its more at 5.5 - 6k rather than 7. DUe to environment laws, u'd find the bike putting along at the rev range, which somestimes i think its very dangerous, don't have the power when u need it.

yep this is what i know.

better not set too lean, as yes it can cause piston to jam, (althought gives u more power as more air gives u higher pressure thus bigger combustion). But due to lack of petrol it would mean lack of 2T as well, and the bigger combustion creates more heat and the faster piston more friction, so u'd probably know what happens when its sustained like that for too long.

running rich is usually betta but as josean meantion more carbon deposits on ur piston and plug fouling easily. but i'd rather go for the safer route, putting it a tad bit more rich, than even try running it a tad lean.

mm..nope i'm quite a newbie myself haven't gotten my hands dirty on my tuono yet, i've only so far tried changing trans oil and taking off the fairings and topping up brake fluid that's all. U can always check with the guys at the apriliaforum, they are experts when u need it. Right fibre? Or alternatively try servoprax.

i guess that's all i can contribute. Cheers

anyone can tell me how far a RS 125 can go with a full tank of V-power..?

thanz a million

On avg i can hit 220 km w/o a pillon and 200 km with a pillon on V-Power. This is for the main tank 10L, haven't tried using the reserve to see how far it can go.

Yes actually ducati makes a CDI which is compatible with aprilia's. Pre98 models shouldn't have powercut.

And at 160kph, if you can't go faster it's got nothing to do with the CDI already. Coz by then you're at nearly 10k rpm liao if i'm not wrong

how come http://jac2703.50free.net/ mentions a power increase after cdi has been deristricted ?

or is theirs restricted in a way different from ours ?

Fibre, the power valve is still there, mine open at around 8.5k...

Damn sian, always stuck at 130km/h. Sure go and mod, cannot tahan liaoz...

hey there eyez, actually many people refer it as setting

bktan's totally spot on about the jettings and the way valve opens and closes

u must do plug chop liao. Then you will get the best setting without blowign your piston up.

And btw the PV should open up at around 8K la

But I also duno how to adjust sia, should be a CDI thing if im not wrong. But I heard some lau jiaus can adjust when it open and how violent it opens

If it opens slightly late then maybe your PV needs a little cleaning

And hor, if you running at gear 4 n above, wun feel jerk one la (this is 125cc onli leh)

But you can feel an improvement in acceleration

If you really wana feel da pull, open your valve at gear 2 :) Or even gear 1 ( but i feel gear 1 quite rough so i nv try)

Finally, i agree with bktan, the guys at apriliaforum realli pro wanz

yep yep,

If you get your jettings correct, this is how it should behave

If only can pull the PV open at 7K instead of 8, then there will be no delay liao

grey, try to go ideal to service your carb. Heard their jettings(setting/tunin) is beri zai

As for your powervalve, i think you should take out n clean. Might be a bit jammed thats why wait until 8.5 then open
