there is no approved arrow pipe for any model less than 2003. Because all previous models were batch tested using the milo can.

hey guys well, looks like i am leaking trans oil. but slowly, as the level is still where my muskin tape is. after cleaning up the chain and chain guard, i found that its still leaking, had a whiff and it smells horribly like my trans oil. Funnily it is either leaking from the front sprocket or the overfill tube, but it can't be the overfill cos i've never topped up my engine oil for 2 mths now?

It only starts to flow while riding, and get splashed around by the chain in the front chain guard, mixes with the chain lube and flows down to the engine then drips onto the exhaust below and evaporating.

*sigh*

Mr. Boon took 2 days fix for me... but that was a rush...

better give him 3 - 4 days to do it as it's really a major overhaul..

you wouldn't want him to rush a expensive job for you, rite??

if you wanna overhaul, go Ideal.

Definitely the right choice. As I had mentioned before, their price are

very transparent, everyone is charge the same price for the same item.

No unscrupulous way of doing business. And your bike will be really

safe in his hand. Servicing and overhaul labour is one stand price.

Let me lay down my list of overhaul items.

1) Service Charge $180

2) Crankshaft Repair Kit $160

3) Crankshaft Bearing $72

4) Crankshaft Oil Seal $25

5) Press Con Rod $20

6) Engine Gasket Rossi $12

7) Clutch Gasket Rossi $9

8) Piston Rotax $160

9) Top End Set Rossi 125 $25

10) Valve Cover Gasket $1

11) Sikolene Light Gear Oil $18

And if your con rod is not spoil, you need not to change it. If you con rod

is spoilt and your piston is not, it would be advisable to change both as

changing the con rod will have to remove the piston 1st.

Happy Riding~

BLEED BRAKES

Taken from apriliaforum

Ok, a short and correct manual for bleeding brakes. The front brake doesn't need to be taken off. The rear caliper needs to be taken off. Take the rear off and put something between it to prevent the pistons from popping out. If you have a spare set off brake pads you can use these. When you start bleeding the rear make sure the nipple is in the highest position. Put a ring wrench on the nipple and put a tube on the nipple. Hang the tube in a jar and put a small amount of brake fluid in the jar, just enough to get the tip of the tube under (this is not necessairy but it makes it a lot easier).Take the lid of the reservoir. Now you squeaze the brake lever in and keep it squeased, at the same time you gently loosen the nipple until the lever starts to go in. When the lever reaches the end of the stroke close the nipple before you release the lever. Release the lever gently, don't let it pop back, otherwise you will get air between the reservoir and the brake cylinder. Keep doing this until there are no more bubbles coming out through the tube. Then do it some more, like 2 or 3 times to make sure the air is all out. Close the nipple and take the tube off. Keep an eye on the reservoir at all times. If it goes below the minimum you will have to start all over again. The last part is to top up the reservoir with brake fluid to the max indication. Always use fresh brakefluid and try not to use silicone based fluid. They have a longer period between refreshes but it will give you a more mushy feeling. Try to get a hold of ate racing blue or ap racing 600. They both are excellent, if you can, use the ate fluid, it has a lifetime of about 2 years while the ap fluid has a lifetime of 6 to 10 months. This has nothing to do with the fluid actually getting worn out, but brake fluid absorbs water and starts to degrade over time. Hopes this helps.

Boosted from MCN

Aprilia has stopped making bikes as it fights for financial survival. The firm must find £5 million by May 3 or be declared bankrupt.

The Italian manufacturer is £147million in debt and suppliers are now refusing to deliver parts – which explains the halt on the production line. The £5 million will simply cover interest due.

The crisis has knock-on effects for Aprilia-owned Moto Guzzi and Laverda and for Shakey Byrne’s MotoGP deal.

Aprilia says there are as many as 15 firms lining up with rescue packages. Read the full story in MCN, out on Wednesday April 28.

Boosted from RSVR.net:

A rumour is circulating in the trade that aprilia is in recivership - it is not - if you telephone either aprilia UK or aprilia Italy you will speak to someone - what has happened is that the scooter division has effectively gone into temporary suspension - this is a scenario common Italy where a company in financial negotiation can close down all or part of it's operation for a limited period during which the gahment pay 80% of the employees' wages. The sccoter division is the primary cause for aprilia's problems and it is a logical step to take advantage of this facility whilts negotiating a sale of shares.

The motorcycle aspect of aprilia is fully functioning as always and this includes spare parts. It is no secret that ROTAX Bombardier (the Austrian company who builds aprilia engines) is at the final stages of a due dilligence exercise prior to putting in a bid to purchase aprilia spa or at least to become the principal shareholder. It is also a well know fact that Ducati are most likely to purchase Moto Guzzi from aprilia.

If you speak Italian you can read all of the above on the web site of Italy's major newspaper La Repuplica http://www.repubblica.it/2004/d/mot...uzziaprilia.htm

In the meantime it's business as usual and as someone else pointed out this whole scenario is a fairly normal and regular occurence in the Italian Corporate world.
