For me my plan will be taking at least 2 hr per outing to PG. Planning to do 5 laps per session. 1 warm up, 3 quick, and 1 cool-down. Rest for a while, then go out again. Of coz my first few sessions will all be slow laps to learn the track.

You need more than 1 warm up lap. Min 2 laps before you start to push the bike or your tires might not be at optimum temperature.

Most of the guys I know warm up for 2-3 laps then push it for about 5 laps then do 1-2 cool down laps and then come in for a 10min break before heading out for their 2nd session. That gives you just enough time for 2 sessions within the hour.

As for learning the track it's pretty easy to memorize. What takes a little longer is learning what gear and rpm you want to be in for each corner and how many downshifts/upshifts between each.

I think it'll be really great if we can get a bunch of RS125's all out there together.

Still waiting for the guy to find time to swap my shock over so that I can send the bike to ideal for the legal arrow fitting.

Actually the 9am slot on weekends is usually very quiet anyway. It's the 10 and 11am slots that are busy. Most ppl can't make it in time for the 9am session as you have to be there by 8:15 or 8:30 to let your tires cool so you can set the pressure and just prepare for the session. Then after you're done you can watch the fast boys go our for the 10am session.

Ive got like 5 for the rest of the year and this includes last yr's brought forward :

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

1)bad fuel economy

2)high maintainence costs

3)parts difficult to get

4)aprilia sucks

5)blablabla...

tried reading this thread but its simply too big.so can you guys enlighten me whats so great about aprilia.i'm attracted to the rs125 simply because most other 2b sportsbike looks kinda ugly.and i heard its fast... :thumb:

I feel that it is up to individual taste. If you like it, just get it. Most of the aprilla riders here love their bikes. All bikes need maintence, just that Aprilla need alittle bit more sayanging. Oh yeah... very forgiving on corners.

I got my motard rims for my KTM! Woohoo....

They've got pretty worn out 120/70 and 150/60 GPR70's fitted currently but I'm gonna replace the tyres with nice new 110/70 & 140/60's soon.

Now all I have to do is upgrade the braking setup to a 310/320mm disc and maybe an Aprilia RS125 brake pump and I'm all set with a 2nd bike for PG.

*GRIN*

Will be interesting to see how the KTM200 Motard performs at PG.

Just buy it. You can ask some of the riders here that rode other 2B bikes such as tzm, sp, etc...nothing can compare to the italians.

1)bad fuel economy

Currently my worse mileage is 21km/L, average is 23.5km/L, and best at 25.5km/L. I think fuel consumption is same for SP or kips, but please correct me if i'm wrong.

2)high maintainence costs

All bikes need maintenace. Cost of worksmanship and certain components such as gear oil and 2T oil is same. Only expensive is the parts, but how to compare Thai-made parts (or parts sources from Asia) with Italians?

3)parts difficult to get

What parts you wanna get? Aprilia dun break down so easily if you take care of the bike.

4)aprilia sucks 5)blablabla...

Basically, you cant really compare lar. if you wanna compare, compare RS125 with Mito or compare SP with Kips.

As for fuel efficiency ask lawrence. He's managed to tune his gf's RS125 (2001 with Milo-kong) to get some incredible mileage like 35km/l or something.

starkarat> The other thing about the RS125 is that it corners like a dream. It was recently rated 2nd best cornering bike in the world according to a UK magazine.

I'll vouch for that, even with my dead rear shock, leaking forks and worned axle bearings i could easily beat the big boys at corners. The look on their faces is priceless

PS: For those about to flame me for playing corner with leaking forks and worned front axle bearings, i'm sorry but the temptation was too great. I'm a weak man :weep:

i wanted to get a tzm for my 2b bike.... but in the end i got a RS. dun get me wrong...i think jap bikes are cool too! if you got the money and fully mod and fit it with race fairings, i think they will look jus as good...

so some questions you gotta ask yourself...

1) what are you getting a bike for? transport? or so that you feel proud to sit on it each time and you take pride in polishing it :lovestruck:

2) are you willing to pay slightly more for the parts which dun get damaged easily as gongong has mentioned unless you whack your bike alot and leave it in the mscp to rot at the end of each day.

personally, each time i ride my baby out, i feel confident in terms of skills and the outlook of it. mind you i cant ride well and almost crashed many times. but when i take the corner on this baby, i feel so confident and honestly, it feels extremely stable and that is even as a pillion!

so my advice to you is....

follow the passion of your heart. how many years of 2B can you have?

at least someday when i grow older..i can say that spending afew more bucks for my passion is all well worth it. :thumb:
