The idea of legalising the small pipe on all rs125s have been discussed quite some time ago alraedy. Basically you need to show some proof that the emission of the small pipe will emit exhaust that comply with the standards and that it will have no adverse effect on your bike.

 

All this documents are only available from Aprilia themselves and perhaps MAH has it when they legalised the small pipe for the FW and above RS125s.

 

You can try to contact MAH motors, but chances are highly unlikely. Good luck

I don't know about having "proof that the emission of the small pipe will emit exhaust that complies with the standards" but from what I understand, ROV has a book of specifications for all motorcycles. Therefore, for all replica models less the Millennium Version, the 'Milo pipe' is supposedly standard-issue.

 

My friend happened to purchase his Aprilia RS 125 Replica (brand new) from Ideal Motors many years back with an 'Arrow pipe' installed. If my memory serves me correctly, he was offered a top-up deal in which he only had to pay a nominal sum to replace the 'Milo pipe' with an 'Arrow pipe'.

 

However, years later, he was caught and fined $750 during a routine road block. He argued that the bike came with the 'Arrow pipe' but the Police argued that since the pipe did not bear the 'Aprilia' brand, it is considered a modification. Moreover, if you were to check local motorcycle magazines of that time e.g. Two-Wheelers, you would find that both the Aprilia Extrema and the Aprilia RS 125 Replica are photographed with the 'Milo pipe' Hence, on top of the $750 fine, he was made to install the 'Milo pipe'.

 

His 'Arrow pipe' is still hanging around somewhere. Any braveheart out there who wishes to purchase can let me know... I'm sure my friend would be more than happy to part with it (at a price... hahaha!)

Yes Messiah, that was what my friend told me also; his Extrema come with a RS pipe option. And according to him, if the pipe has the 'Aprilia' brand, it is acceptable. But by the time he was caught in the road block, he already traded his Extrema for the RS replica (and 'Arrow pipe'). It seems this 'Aprilia pipe' is hot commodity now.

hey aprilia guys, my gear oil seems to keep overflowing out the overflow tube and its the level is now just pass the halfway mark of the glass window, do i hav a problem? guess i'd be topping up soon, what gear oil u guys use? rockoil lgo ok?

anyway, what performance boosts are there for an arrow pipe?

does it affect heat emission cos mine always flutter around 87+ during the peak hr jams and the bike shop guy told me that if it pass 90 its gonna overheat soon.

oh, and i'm having this prob of the first gear being very weak, i turn my throttle halfway still the bike is wobbling, and cannot get biting point on the initial release, must release den pull back on the clutch one.... how ah??

 

also ah, anyone got intro for where to get a singleseater?

just try to get use to ur bike lar.... when i first started riding my bike... i couldn't even kick the gear ar... cause too slow:cheeky: den also always engine die in the middle of the road... my father told mi this... "die(my bike) a few more times den u noe liaoz...."

try throttling more...u'll get used to it de...no worries...

our rs125...pickup 'can eat quite a few sps' liaoz...keke...

daojeff my rs also used to keep dying. seemed like everytime i stp and e engine idle den will die... haha. but after that i increased the fuel intake and increased the idling rpm. den ok liaoz. but i think increases fuel consumption. hehe.

any tips on what petrol u guys have been using? so far feel that esso 95 has that extra kick compared to BP. dunno if it's psychological. haha.
