KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 (Bernama) -- The rate for foreign vehicle entry

permits for visitors from Singapore and Thailand coming in to the

country has not been finalised, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs

Minister Datuk Shafie Apdal said.

He said the RM20 as announced earlier was only part of the Cabinet's

decision on the matter but the actual rate to be imposed was still

under consideration.

"Yes that was only partly the decision made by the Cabinet, but I

think it is better for Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun

Razak to make an announcement on this," he said.

Yesterday, Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said

visitors from Singapore and Thailand who used their cars to enter the

country would be charged RM20 as entry permit from next month.

The charge was to defray petrol and diesel subsidies shouldered by the

government.

"So far we have decided on cars only, but we know visitors from

Singapore and Thailand come in not only by car but also motorcycle. So

we are fine-tuning the matter," he told reporters after launching BAE

Maca Max, the latest health offering by direct selling company BAE

International Inc. Sdn Bhd here Sunday.

Shafie said the Cabinet Committee on Fuels chaired by Datuk Seri Najib

Tun Razak was fine-tuning the implementation of the charge, including

the type of vehicles that would be involved, how it is to be imposed

and who will collect the money.

"We have to make sure the infrastructure is in place, it cannot be

implemented in haste," he said, adding that a meeting would be called

soon among the agencies involved to iron out the details.

Hi guys,my street legal arrow pipe exhaust was stolen. I currently don't have any spare exhaust. Any kind hearted soul willing to spare me a end can temporarily while waiting for a replacement of my exhaust coz i really need to use my bike for transport. Please call or msg Fandi at 81988427. I just can't believe my exhaust was stolen. I've already reported this matter to the police. Anyone have any advice what i should do?

I've heard about this also already. My point of view is malaysian gov wants to earn more income because they know that alot of vehicles are going in to top up petrol and they also do it becos of some grudges against s'pore mainly. Seriously wad i think is they're stupid lorh. This will in fact benefit s'pore cos a small percentage of cars will stop going into malaysia to top up petrol as it would not be worth the trip considering the time and distance spent and thus these motorist will top up their petrol in s'pore which will result in s'pore earning more income. So back to the old statement, malaysian gov is stupid. No offence hor, but i've been hearing this statement for a very long time already.

Here's another stupid thing which the malaysian gov did: They came up with a plan to build a "overhead" bridge across the causeway so that ships can pass through to their east side dicking bay without having to go round s'pore. They can up with the drawing and plans, everything was nicely done but s'pore gov would not agree to this as it will result in a huge loss of no. of ships passing through s'pore. Guess what? Malaysia still went on with the project and they build half of the bridge. Stupid right ?? S'pore will nvr allow them to link the bridge to s'pore to replace the current causeway de but they still wanna build half of it. Really dunno wad they're up to sia. -___________-""
