yup i saw a 06 rs125 too... along jurong west ave1 few days ago... black in colour... haha

geko- ask richard la... think he kanna stopped quite a few times by tp & rov or rd blocks liao... u can risk changing to an illegal arrow, think performance should exceed the newer rd legal arrows, but if kanna stopped, rov can haul u back to the nearest inspection center and slowly go over ur bike on items dat are substandard.

how do i noe, dat time i'm waiting at jic for my new arrow to be registered, met this poor malay chap on a rxz. was hauled in by a rov for having a noisy pipe initially. then after the technician went over his bike, worked out he might need to fork out $700+ for all the items dat are substandard in fines...

u can play hide and seek wit rovs la... but make sure u can tahan when the time comes lor...

I don't know about stock tyres (not that it should make much of a difference), but I use the stock pressure of 26psi front, 29psi rear.

Anyway seldom ride my Mito on e road nowadays esp at unworldly hrs so should b kinda alright.

I put 23psi for the front and 25psi for the rear for track. Road use I use 26psi and 29psi. Have been using sport max for about 11 month.

issit? funny eh, he told me at least 2 encounters with the white beings... both which he showed them the arrow card when the questions on his arrow were raised...

anyway guess its okie ba... since i do seen alot of aprilias using illegal arrows..

Nah stock is 28mm. Even for e older Evos. For e MKs i m not too sure.

Actually not too sure other than being lighter, how much of a improvement will e Arrow gives since i m already on a operated totally hollow stock stomach?

N e wt diff is it really that significant? Cant tell since i do not have a weighing machine nor have i carried a legal Arrow before. If its like a few kg diff it wont be justifiable to change.

i got hauled by TP's and ROV with My illegal full system.. but TP, only summore "no side mirrors' 'no mudguard' 'no chainguard' 'vissor' hehe! i argue abt it too, but the TP say, 'if i give u face now, ur bike come base, coz ur bike doesnt look like a bike.. how?' -.-" i say.. nvm, i take the summore now.. he warning me abt the pipe. ROV long story, get away with my accident reasons.

 

but from last few mths till now, aiyo, better dont get caught by them, if u tio, it will be to the max for sure. so do take care.

bro... if u had read up on how 2t engines work, actually most of its power came from the exhaust system. the system actually functions like a turbo charger in its simplest form! the endcan is juz a silencer and not really adding much to the performance.

it's the whole section of the exhaust pipe dats really making the diff on the diameter, length, how much diverging and converging angle of the stomach, etc dats determining where's ur power band would be.

in short, the exhaust system'll pack more air/fuel mixture back into the compression chamber as the exhaust gases gone through exhaust system, and therefore producing more power.

and since 2t engine dun operate on delicated intake/ouput valves like 4t engines, instead on covering/uncovering ports on each stroke, some air/fuel mixture'll push & follow the exhaust gas out into the stomach, where resonance pressure'll force most of the mixture back into the compression chamber by the exiting exhaust gases....

and so 2t engines are more polluting than 4t engines koz of incomplete combustion; some of the mixture dats not forced back in by the resonance pressure, are coming out wit the exhaust gases.

do read up on http://www.howstuffworks.com on how 2t engine works & 2t tuned pipe section....

and notice how the size & shape of the stomach's diff from the oem exhaust system....

Aprilia by stock for the 03 n above are already fast enough. TRUST ME. However much standard mod u do, it will just be that little bit faster from 0-170. A better idea is to play with sprocket.

 

17 x 39 for track n road (6th gear 12krpm at 170km/h).

17 x 38 for Top speeds (6th gear 12k rpm at 180km/h).

17 x 40 for stock bikes = quite good pick-up n mid range but not much top speed.

*** These results are got from my own trial n errors on a stock size (520) chain.

 

JUst change to a 34mm carb, get it tuned properly, if u riding 03 n above n u should get a more powerful acceleration n reasonable top speed.

 

28mm carb fuel consumption is about 27-30km/l on the road, 18-20km/l on track.

34mm carb fuel consumption is about 20-26km/l on the road, 15-20km/l on track.

** once u open the valve at 8.25k rpm, fuel consumption is a lot higher than anything below that rpm.

 

Tyres, try to use Dunlop GPR70 at least. 110/70 front, 140/60 rear. Use even better tyres like pirelli, michellin, etc if u want.

 

Chain, use "o" ring type if u hate to tighten ur chain regularly. But do bear in mind to lube your chain regularly to minimise chain wear n tear even if u are using the best brands.

 

Tyre pressure I use for track is 190 front(110/70), 200 Rear(140/60), for GPR70 tyres. Road, I use 210 front, 230 rear - if have pillion. Without pilion, 200 front, 210 rear. But tyre pressure will be different if ur body weight is lighter or heavier than me. I am 55kgs.

 

Change gear oil every 2000km. Clean spark plug when u service ur valve. Service of valve depends on individuals. I did DIY n so every 1000km I would service it once. Carb cleaning can be done every 3/4 mths if u are broke or lazy like me.

 

 

Other mods, do it at your own risk. This post is based on my bike performance n what I understand from it. It might not be the same for ur RS125 but it should be close.

There are also RS250 parts manuals, etc, out there, plus guides on carb tuning by reputable tuners/mechanics.
