Yup Servo i do have a side bike too.

Anyway seems like if u want to use 140 for ur rear, ur choice is very very very very limited, maybe only to GPR70 n BT090.

So far Conti, Metzeler, Michelin, Pirelli i cant find any Z-rated 140. I may be wrong cos i may not have search extensively enough.

Guess e only solution is to either use e 150's or limit e no. of laps at 1 go. I shall limit my no. of laps.

Why four strokes when all you need is two?

Yes, they posted the invitation on the ARC forum last night but I had no time to reply or post it here. I think 1 week's notice is ok.

Judging from responses so far, it seems that GPR70 overheats rather fast. I suppose 15 laps is somehow e limit even though i m not attacking for all 15 laps? Usually 10 normal laps first followed by 5 hard laps. I dont know cos i have no balls to continue after e tyres start to slip. Anybody who tried 15 or more laps continously on their GPR70 before?

Fast warm-up equals fast overheat - no way around that. Also, your tyres are almost certainly being affected by their age. Performance decreases with each heat cycle. Tyres, especially those used for the road, can be worn out while still having most of their tread intact.

Bro, maybe you wanna check out ARC Forum for more details? Then can join us out for meetings and events to know more Aprilians. This way you can also let some of our pros to check on your bike to see if there are any other minor or major problems too.

Thanks for providing the ARC link Bryan! :thumb:

eclipze, as Bryan suggested, do take a look at the ARC Forum and see if it answers your questions. Also, do read the Owners Manual and Service Manual (links are on the ARC forum).

Meanwhile, let me get you started with this: Overheating in RS125s is usually caused by air bubbles in the cooling system. These need to be flushed out by running the engine and unscrewing 2 bleeding points; 1 on a hose, and 1 on the radiator. When no more bubbles come out, close the screws. Top up your coolant, and see if there's any difference.

Also check to see that your thermostat sensor wire is properly connected to the sensor (it's the wire next to your spark plug cable).

If you're not confident of doing this yourself (it's not hard), get a competent mechanic to do it for you.

'06 RS125, mmmm :lovestruck:

I assume you would only go that fast on the Malaysian highways. Do be careful bro, and watch out for crazy Malaysian road conditions.

Don't ever go that fast on Singapore roads. Stay safe, alive, and in possession of your licence. And, the next time you wanna try your top speed, I recommend the second straght at the Pasir Gudang Track.

i'm not saying aprilias are damn bloody loud, i'm just saying that as a group they capture more attention than other bikes. that and the fact that we have gatherings here, meetings there, that's prolly why people are paying attention.

and for the record, i've seen people standing at the roadside or driving their cars turn their heads when we pass by in a group.

well any bikes in a group captures attention anyway...

Sorry just a few questions guys abt tyres since i saw Servoprax posting abt Michelin.

How's e GPR70 doing on ur Aprillas?

I dont like e feeling that i have to stop n rest after 15 laps cos e tyres start to slide at e rear. Or should that b e case n i can continue riding? Its always around after 15 laps. Maybe its pyschological cos i m tired but well not too sure either.

Anyway e tyres r manufactured in wk22 of yr 05 so its abt 1 yr old tyres.

I was using 150/60 for my rear b4 n recently changed to 140/60. Though e 150 there's still ugly chicken strips left, at least it does gives me more confidence cos i know there's always still room for more but this time it will b e front that cant take it.

How many laps in ur opinions is e GPR70 able to last? Use it till it is going to botak?

What r e alternatives to GPR70? Are e BT any better? Wet weather grip doesnt really concern me that much cos seldom meet rain in PG but i still do ride ocassionally on e streets of Singapore.

Wanted to try e M3 but well dont think they have 140 for e rear.

M1 is dual compound but its not for track right?

A million thanks in advance!

On my GPR70s, I felt my rear was sliding too, after abt 19-20 laps in the Sepang full 5.548km circuit. Then another rider who was much faster than I was and trying to overtake me spoke to me in the pit, and said the tire pressure was causing me to slide. Dont know how accurate this is.

Maybe the wrong pressures are also causing my tires to flex out of shape because the front and rear tires are shredded to the edge, which made me realise how close I was to losing either ends.

IMO tires are important, but may not have a significant difference among different brands as long as you are using tire types designed for similar purpose. For instance, if you compare a Dunlop track tire with a Michelin tour tire then not a fair comparison.

But our bikes are quite light, so difference might not be that big for the non-track users.

Having coolant inside the coolant reservoir does NOT mean that the coolant is circulating during riding.

You might be having some blockage inside your radiator or the coolant pump may have broken down (ie jammed or blocked).

Or might be due to a gasket leak which leads to uneven heating of your cylinder and crazy temperature readings.

Luanne had a similar problem on her bike a few months ago. The temp was showing 50-ish on a cold start and just shooting up to 100+. Turned out the 'thermister' (that's what Mah called it anyways) or temp sensor was faulty. They replaced it under warranty, but a replacement part from them would cost ~$38-40.

That's what Aprilia's service manual calls it too. Weird name.

Thats not that is weird abt our bikes.

We've got weirdo's like us who ride weird bikes...

-who gets a second look whenever we ride in a group irregardless or bike ie, wave-prilia or OEM aprilia;

-who thinks the club aint that fascinating afterall cos we are just plain humble,

-who thinks of the bigger picture of the group than just plain self glory, -who initiates and not just remain a follower,

-who dares to be different but yet remains rooted,

-who just has a big mouth but yet filters the words,

-who with all the other members form this humble yet fun little community where friends are found, new friends made and friendship is renewed.

This record has been broken to many times in a year for so many years running since aprilia first emerged on SG shores.

Probably now some people will understand why the constant reminders, the regular meetings, the proper planning, the structured organization, the connections and affiliations, the support, the respect and finally the people who make all this happen.

To all our distiguished members, be proud to be part of a growing club. Hiccups do happen as we move ahead, but thinking positively, we will definitely benefit from all this and become a better person in our own due time.

Should any of you have any friends riding the aprilia sportcity scooters, moped etc, RSV, do invite them into our club. We are open to any model as long as long as you are a current owner, ex-owner or even future owner.

in any case u have an option to install a radiator fan bro...it'll cool the bike down as u ride or when ur stopping...can also fix a switch to it to on or off it anytime...
