Guys,

i'm in a world of ****. yesterday night i rode my newly bought super4 out for supper, on my way back i encountered a road block. of cos i couldn't produce insurance and i dun have 2a (my 2a tp is next mth). he say he will summon me for riding without valid licence and without insurance and my case will be referred to tp.

does anyone here noe exactly wad are the penalties of these charges?

and can anyone here pls give me some advice of how to mitigate these charges? i know the consequences are grave (probably all classes of licence gantung plus heavy fine) and it was a moment of folly, but things have already happened and i hope i can do some damage control.

thanks a million in advance.

Doesn't sound like a moment of folly to me.

You knowingly & intentionally rode that bike out knowing you did not have the requisite license & insurance. I see no mitigating factors for you.

Be prepared to lose all your licenses & start all over again.

give that I**T a chances lah ...who knows this time someone may screw up and decide to let him of with a warning instead

Honestly, if you get hauled to court, being remorseful & admitting to charges may be more helpful in damage control, rather than trying to appeal for leniency because of a "moment of folly".

laserboy, like you, i bought a bike before getting my license. been very tempted to ride it, but to-date only warm it around my condo carpark, basement to 4th floor to basement. after reading your experience, i realise it is too risky to take it out for a joyride.

all the best in your case. my humble suggestion is to get a lawyer to mitigate for you. It is always better to have someone else mitigate on your behalf than to mitigate for a lenient sentence yourself.

Get a nice big picture of your license and frame the picture up as a reminder, because you won't be seeing your license again.

Moment of folly? Even more a reason to revoke your license because it shows that you are not responsible and rational enough.

Riding without valid license and insurance is a serious offence. Count your lucky stars that you were caught in a road block, not an accident.

i've always tried to drill it into other fellow forumers who wish to buy a bike b4 they pass their TP test that temptations will over-rule the ability to think rationally

u r the perfect living example of why u should not buy a bike when u dun have the valid license to ride it

thanks for making my point & no... there is absolutely no case for you to appeal

in the event that u try to delay the case & appeal... u mite be slapped with an even heavier punishment

to conjurer... riding in ur condo carpark does not mean u r 100% safe

at times patrol cars do visit private car parks too

have u ever thot what if u got into an accident in the car park?

u do not have any insurance for the other party to claim... u will be at a LOSE LOSE situation

think b4 u act... think with ur brain... not ur kidney or knee cap
