It seems that after losing S$50,000,000,000.00 in their investments made by GIC and Temasek, the government is now trying very hard to recover some of those losses from their citizens, or whom they termed as "lesser mortals".

Imagine that if this S$50,000,000,000.00 were to be divded by 3,600,000 Sinkaporeans (excluding PRs, FWs and FTs), each of us can get S$13,888.88. Furthermore, what about the accrued interests if this amount had been left in a banking institution instead? What a waste of the taxpayers monies indeed?

worth mentioning again...

to consistently remind ourselves why all citizens must pay so much just for 1 or 2 person's mistake in investing & losing a country's money, but when the investment had bear fruit, we merely get a few cents here and there only.

*sigh*

How come some old news like this comes up, people correlate it with government trying to make money. I'm no government stooge but the primary role of enforcement is to ensure smooth flow of traffic, be it for the buses or other road users. Bus commuters will laud this move whilst rogue motorists will whine about it. How about intensified enforcement against illegal parking when TP/LTA decided to outsource? Most motorists will crow about less obstruction while the offenders will complain about it. What's the difference then?

Even before this information was out, there has always been enforcement on the bus lanes, only now they have outsourced it to another contractor. If you're so afraid of contributing to the government coffers, then stay out of the bus lanes laaa.....

Woah.. I am assuming the Govt can recover $34,000 in fines.

I was wondering why all the road users are so obedient as to keep out of bus lanes. Woah.. =x

Thanks for the notice!

Be humble on the road at all times coz u'll neva noe wen u need any rider's help...

beware of bus lanes, nowadays many cameras manned by cisco usually hidden behind bushes.

when u tot u r safe, there they r, noting down your plate number.

Another area will be Ubi Rd....near to the JTC factory ( cross junction) ...the bus lane ...Camera + man is always available ....that road is messy...and too many ways of left and right turn with such constraint ...bike and car usually lose direction and move into bus lane

saw a malay traffic warden at bukit batok a few days ago. It is along the stretch of road in front of Keming Primary school. If you exit PIE go towards BukitBatok east ave 3 i tink you will pass that road.

The traffic warden was hiding behind a bush, taking a video camera and filming those people who dun give way to buses. BBatok got those new 'give way' thingy for bus. Very counter-intuitive. (Normally i see bus i will speed up. in case he mistake that i want to give way and just drive out. Then if i still go i will langa him. if I brake, the car behind me will langa me. haiz~)

Dunno whether will kena anything or not, if she manages to film you.

Why did I become a rider?

This is just my humble and modest attempt to live within my means.

Not to forget the wind, the freedom, the joy, the sun, the ride.
