the OTR SW is actually heavier than that... dry weight + 16L of petrol + 2.3L EO + top box (if any) + tools + additional aftermarket stuffs + barang barang inside the compartments... easily >260kg

That's quite some weight, yet still can achieve 25KM/L - not bad...

i havent been able to achieve 25km/l yet....

first tank, got 21km/h. then went future scootering, realised pulley almost worned, and put in opposite direction by previous owner, and belt has abit of crack. Hopefully this is the reason for the bad fuel consumption.

F.S took out some petrol to wash the drive train, just got a new full tank, gonna monitor again....

No matter wat, silverwings still feels lighter than my ex burgman 650 weighing at 245kg dry or current FJR weighting at 248kg dry.

Cos the silverwing's heavy weight is all behind & most importantly it's bottom heavy, not top.

it is just FJS produced in 2009 with slightly different paintwork

 

haha... just as i guessed, coz their OTR prices are always below others, but they uses the "Ala Carte ++"...

suggest you include the following to calculate the true price

* machine price (confirm the year of manufacture; the older the cheaper even when its new, so remember to bargain)

* COE (ask whether any rebate if COE prices drops below; you must monitor yourself to get the diff back coz they won't auto tell you)

* total GST (make sure they didn't charge GST for COE)

* IU (include GST)

* registration fees

* admin or agreement fees

* minimum loan and period, interest rate

* loan terms (think they charge early repayment penalty)

* insurance type (make sure it is at least 3PFT also known as 2nd party; comprehensive also can but top up lor)

 

don't bother to ask for freebies, its not in their "menu"

THanks for the advise...got another quote from another shop..this time everything included(no hidden charges) is about $17.9k OTR for the GT,ABS version..interest is at 5%,how was it? dont know shd wait till end of year then get it..hopefully will be cheaper lah.

silverwing is not hard to sell. normally bike shops sell their bikes at the currency they bought at that time. so to me, no point waiting. unless 2010 models are cheaper. of course they will sell remaining stocks 1st before bringing in new ones.

yeah man, no point waiting... like bigcow said, motorshops use a "cost-plus" pricing model so unless the next shipment comes is cheaper, the prices ain't gonna be dropping like liulian. if 17+k is stiff, can always consider a used unit for much less.
