What is so special about the brake pad that must us wants to go back to stock ?

odo >41k kms liow but mech said they're still in good condition (use ½ nia)

My rear stock one lasted 52k.

Front now 63k still ok.

Not sure how this compare to aftermarkets.

wah, it will take me at least 3 years to reach that type of mileage as I only clock 12k km a year...

Aside from mileage, have to take riding conditions into consideration when making comparisons. Scooby is on 80/20 Highway-City riding. I'm the opposite on 20/80 with lots of start-stop :cry:

Also, braking style and maintenance will also play a part :)

Actually I cannot see why anyone will not prefer more torque with the same engine. By smoother, do you mean less power / acceleration? Save fuel? :confused:

its a matter of personal preference... while some like the "jerky" response, some prefers a smoother less jerky pickup.

yes, my butt dyno felt the bike is more responsive and pulls a little faster when using the sparky with the u-grove.

FC wise can't comment since i just put the D sparkies on.

btw, the NGK irridium sparkies are a lot cheaper than denso ones at $12 each, i just got 2 from LAB :p

Yes, size 7 or 21 (Denso) is kinda hot.

in your user manual, wats size spark plug to use?

for asia climate, common size to use is size 8 or 9 (Denso 24 or 27).

the hotter your plug, the better torque u get. but its gonna be too hot for your engine. the colder your plug, the better top speed u get. but might run lean.

for long distance travelling, going to generate a lot of heat, better to use size 9.

Just came across this:

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6257021#post6257021

Got Diablo tires for $150.

better check age (week of manufacture) of the tyres before buying... i'ld rather pay 10+ bucks more than to get a pair of not so new "new" tyres.

in your user manual, wats size spark plug to use?

for asia climate, common size to use is size 8 or 9 (Denso 24 or 27).

manual states...

Honda Silverwing FJS 400 (Euro) owner's manual indicated that we can use the following spark plugs:

Denso:U22FER-9, U24FER-9 (IUH-24 not stated but cross referenced)

NGK: CR7EH-9,CR8EH-9 (CR8EHIX-9 not stated but cross referenced)

ever wonder what these symbols mean?

e.g. NGK CR8EH-9

C = 10mm, hex size 16mm or 5/8"

R = resister type

8 = heat rating 8 (2 hottest, 11 coldest)

EH = partial thread 19mm (3/4" total reach), 12.7mm (1/2" total reach)

9 = 0.9mm gap

thus, the CR7EH-9 would be a relatively hotter plug :cool:

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spark_plugs/partnumberkey.pdf

http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/ngkjpg.htm

e.g. Denso U24FER-9

U = thread size 10mm, hex size 16mm

24 = heat rating 24 (9 hottest, 37 coldest)

FE = half thread 19mm (3/4" total reach)

R = resister type

9 = 0.9mm gap

thus, the U22FER-9 would be a relatively hotter plug :cool:

http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/densojpg.htm

:angel:

is CR9EH-9 or CR9EHIX-9 available in sinkapor?

if use that, then gotta change back to 8 after returning from touring :cheeky:
