Scoobydoo, his is SW600. Most comfy speed is 110-120kmh

Based on my experience, SW400 best to keep below rpm 6.5k (120km/h) for reasonably good FC on NSHW (about 23-24km/L).

Anything 7k and above (from 130km/h), the FC will drop to about 21km/L.

For SW600, they can add 10km/h more to the speed shown above becos of diff gearing ratio. *I.e. for the same speed, their rpm is abt 0.5k lower.

motoworld has 2 sites. main site has workshop at ground floor, apparels "shop" at level 2 and bike accessories "shop" at basement. sales showroom at lavender street. http://www.motoworld.com.sg/locate.php

u decide whether its big or small :D

we should always make "booking" when changing tires, regardless of mototiam. factor about 1~2hrs for changing tires... quickies are never good.

as for belt, rollers & u-clips (runner sliders), half day leave is sufficient as it takes about 1+hrs (proper job by mech familiar with SW, spares available and no delays). better to use honda stock ones, and even more so should make "booking" as not every mototiam carries our "stuffs" on hand. costs for changing the 3-in-1 is between $220 to $290 depending on where you go. the job should include:

~ cleaning of transmission case

~ change belt

~ change rollers

~ change u-clips (4 pieces of rubber thingy)

~ cleaning the variator & roller ramps

~ greasing as necessary

~ cleaning rear pulley & clutch assembly (heard some mechs will take out the clutch assemble for cleaning while some will only do a "blow job" :p)

in case you are thinking of buying the stuffs yourself (e.g. from FJT or BS), most mechs don't entertain as they'll loose the margin on the purchased parts.

which tyres you recommend?

some shops stand by the hoop while some push the metzelers... hoop is the most expensive (heard its about $270 /pair), followed by feelfree, then diablo scoot (best deal now is $165). but it seems the 3 of us now using the pirelli diablo scooter are quite happy... value for $$ :thumb:

Like wat Bro Scoobydoo said, not all mech are well versed in scooter transimission etc cos they are quite specialized parts... Maybe you got to check anyone changed their belt and rollers and transmission parts at M_____W____ before deciding...

So far from what I know, only botak "service" the clutch, dismantlr into pieces and clean individually...

Specialized scooter parts I'll definately go back to him, I dun dare to try others in case any c*rk up...

my views on the various recommended mechs for SW servicing are...

my PERSONAL VIEWS only arh!!!

BS... gave up, tor kor also not familiar with SW plus can't do a proper job :faint: warranty over, no intention of going back.

MW still not very familiar with SW, my conclusion after a chat with someone from there. i was the 1st SW to change tires there

WM may be familiar with SW but prices have rocketed since last year :slapforehead: due to higher demand??? will go there if got something big (touch wood), then bo-pian pay the premium lor.

FS now lack mechs experienced in SW; had a not so good experience for a simple job... grrrrr.

Looi's is good place to buy but not familiar with SW repairs, played me out last year. change eo/filter ok lah.

K&T services are ok (so far), mid range prices but always very busy leh; only place that do synchronising among the shops i've patronised.

TH got lots of assessories/gadgets but need to avoid W (his price quotes are always higher than J). i kinda like the Liqui Moly 10w50 from there, intend change back to that after thailand trip :p

my views... my views... my views :cheeky:
