Next Sat many other ppl going to Cameron too.

Should meet lots of SG bikers there.

Our group = 4x SW, 2x DT300i and 1 S4?

Or will the Fz6 and GW going?

4x SW, where got so many.

This trip too many trunk road + up-hill, so Fz6 is a must. Plus need the speed in order to stay behind S4.

Last trip with S4, he travel so quick & fast i have to travel 180km/h or more for a period in order catch up with him :(

His bike shouldn't breakdown so easily but found out that his bike drink petrol like water so first stop Ayer Keroh RSA (210km), don't think his bike can make it.

hehe... i have lots of junk in my database including the circuit diagram drawn sometime back, i just have to amend according to your description.

not sure if i have understood what you mean by "high beam is permanently engaged" but it is NOT advisable for the high beam to be permanently engaged... can't pass inspections and also for safety reasons.

it is a nuisance, also a hazard to other road users in front (glaring when looking at rear view mirrors) and especially those coming from ahead (potentially "blind" their vision at night). just imagine you're riding along South Buona Vista Road (or Eng Neo Ave) at night and some biker comes down with his high beam shining right into your eyes. you get flash blinded for a while but that short while could lead to something disastrous.

think safety for ourselves and also for other road users too :thumb:

since you already have 2 mod switches available, why not use 1 for low beam and the other for high? no need to join both together and risk "melting" the switch.

suggest you go back and ask Ah Choong to do the wiring properly.

problem is still not resolved cos you solve the lighting problem but now has the high beam problem... either you revert back to stock mode (low permanently on, high on/off) or BOTH with on/off options.

how can a mech leave the high beam always on for his customer... please ask Ah Seng to wake up his idea :slapforehead:

imo, i personally cannot accept his work and that's the reason i don't let him do my bike since his time at Future. he has been a mech for rather long and for some reasons still can't make it (just my opinion).

if Ah Choong is not free, i'ld rather ride off. same goes for Future, if Ah Hwa (or Kenny) is not free, i'ld also ride off.

:goodluck:

,

Thank you again for your detailed explaination Scoobydoo.

My high beam and low beam are both connected to 2 switches individually, externally. I can control them and I normally only turn on my low beam. What is different from a normal bike is that the blue light for the high beam is on permanently, even if my high beam is off. This is because certain wires in the left hand throttle assembly are being connected together. (If they are not connected, my lights can't be on. Think it's some other wiring connected wrongly) Ah Choong recommended me to change the whole left hand throttle assembly, but everything seems alright after riding a few days. I think I would change it if the problem happens again or if it affects the circuit in the bike.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy a bike, and that's close enough.

S4 got 18L tank.

Even if FC like the GW, it'll be able to clock 15km/L x 18L= 270km at full tank.

Spare fuel can be transferred from my bike at rm20 per litre. hehehe.

Instant news reporting!!!

Just saw an accident at the junction in front of my block.

A taxi made a u-turn and a scrambler crashed into its back.

Rider landed on the taxi's roof and the paramedics, who arrived super quickly in 5mins have problem moving him.

I believed rider sustained a broken arm.

Don't ask me for numbers...

... and the paramedics, who arrived super quickly in 5mins have problem moving him.

wah! 5 mins is super dooper fast.

the last time i called for an ambulance at junction between woodlands ave 1 & 2 (around 6pm), ambulance took 20+mins to arrive and TP (bike) arrives later than the big fat ambulance.

i saw this malaysian biker chiong out when the lights turn green (machiam race horse shooting out when the gates open) only to ram flat into the side a mini-van that beat the red light. luckily there was no pillion and even more lucky his kup-kia is not some super bike which could have brought him in front of van; if it is van rams bike, darn jialat liow. at scene, biker seemed to suffer concussion and suffered a fractured leg, others dunno cos i got no x-ray eyes.

riders don't deserve harsh treatments on the roads, but looking at the way many riders ride, i sometimes wonder if their value their lives or its the thrill/gunho feel that carried them away :slapforehead:

having said, hope the rider is ok

Fusionjaz shared this knowledge with me, so, thought of sharing it after reading about it on wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanic_corrosion

Extract:

"Galvanic corrosion is an electrochemical process in which one metal corrodes preferentially to another when both metals are in electrical contact and immersed in an electrolyte."

What it means briefly is that, when we put metals of different kind together, we might risk accelerating the corrosion of the other type; the less noble type. You could refer to the anodic index at the bottom. The higher the index, the less noble, and thus easier to corrode. Example, if you put gold together with iron, the iron will corrode faster.

The purpose of knowing this, is to identify the brackets, accessories material to be installed on the bike if you want to minimize rust/corrosion.

For example, in the event you have to install aluminum next to steel, then you could install plastic washer, or do coating or anything to prevent contact.

Hope the knowledge helps.
