There are 2 main reasons why we should not use car engine oil on motorcycles with wet clutch:

 

1. Car engine oil contains friction modifiers which are bad for the clutch and causes clutch slippages: and

2. Motorcycles engine revs are more than 2x the typical revs of car, hence causing the oil to breakdown and lose its' lubricating function.

 

For these, I wouldn't use car engine oil on my gixxer with wet clutch and a 15krpm redline.

 

If you look at SW, the 2 factors are not there. SW uses a dry clutch and 140km/h at 7krpm is the fastest I will ride a SW. In fact, using good car EO helps lubricates the internal parts well (timing chain, slator, coil, camshafts, valves, bearings, etc). I have been using car EO for 2.5 years over 20kkm. The last time I opened the crankcase cover to re-seal, everything still looked like new. Of course my usage is low and the furthest I've been to on SW at one shot is Kuantan at 700km over 2 days, and thus may be safe. However, it is precisely this low mileage that I use car EO, so that I can change EO at 4kkm or 6 months rather than having to drag it to a year.

 

However, use at your own risks and don't come looking for me if your SW engine fouls up because of using car EO :lol:

yup all stock parts still available except for the fork springs

should be fine.. some riders even use car eo for their manuel wet clutch bike.

unlikely.. spoken to the boon seiw staffs.. they will only place order for the DCT when there is an order and the lead time is around 2 months or more..

 

i ask if there will be in additional, they staff said unlikely.. if there is, also 1 or 2..

 

you might want to check with ASP..

One question. Do I need to buy the pressure gauge with hose? Let's say both the air screw will be set at 1.75 turns, shouldn't it be balance?

the start point should be the same at 1.75. but both throttle not entirely equal so

there will be different in setting.

Pls leh this is SW thread..Bring your GSXR question elsewhere. FYI,all GSXR from 08 onwards all got slipper clutch..Which one are you going to get????

Hi guys!

Im sure some of u did some mods on your ride.

 

I want to put a mesh wire at my radiator panel. But how do you guys make it stick to the panel?

I saw tink of using silicone glue but overtime it will melt due to high temp.

Any inputs?
