Haha.. Me too.. Downgrade to Silverwing and now then realize is a good and economic bike.. Regret upgrading..

I normally take the current OTR price divided by 10 years (COE)...

 

If OTR is 22k, then every year should reduce by 2.2k.

So, assuming 6 year old bike = 6x 2.2k = 13.2k depreciation.

Expected price should be 22k - 13.2k = 8.8k.

 

That is just my guide. However, there are other factors that would increase or lower the price, i.e. outlook, accidents and maintenance, etc.

 

My friend is selling his 5-year old SW-T at $12k negotiable (see my other post). You might wanna have a look and discuss things over.

The bike I looking at is mar 08..so left like 2.5 yrs.. Dealer asking 8.5k..hopefully I can reduce a lot..haha..

You got money then buy the 08 model lo.. If got no money then buy new Silverwing then slowly installment

i had once tot of selling away my swing but really hard to find another as comfy, durable, low maintenance and fuel economic as swing..

 

2.5years for 8.5k.. to me is a lil too high side.. have to depends what was on the bike also..

for swing best if front and rear suspension is changed.. the rest of the add on are minor..

Yes bro.. I agree with you.. Only BMW c650 can match.. But very costly..

Motoworld... i still remember paying only $145 for my diablo pair there in 2008,

turn out my SW was there for their mechs to trial-n-error

You are tall get tmax.. You are not so tall get a swing..

I have tried tmax my waist can't reach the back rest becoz tmax is too long.. I'm around 174cm.. And I feel uncomfortable when I ride it.. just my 2cent thoughts.. Hope it help abit

Just gotten a used SWT400. To many things to learn from here. Lol. Been riding for a few days am I must say its really relax to ride. 1 quick question, How to change coolent for SWT400? Only saw a guide for the older model in tech corner but its rather different compared to SWT400.

Change coolant?

Draining off at left side below the pillion foot peg.... can see 'air-con' piping attached to bottom of engine.

Add coolant - Remove front Y fairing, the radiator cap is on the right side.

Hi guys, i've ordered a SW GT (red), coming in about a month's time. some noob questions to ask, pardon me if the questions are repeated (super long thread with tonnes of infos) thus unable to read all of it (still trying to digest the massive INFO thread).

 

For questions about parts/accessories, if possible kindly help to state where to get and rough pricing.

 

1. I would like to install a topbox, preferably 40+ to 50+ litres. Any suggestions in terms of waterproofing, looks (to compliment the bike)?

1a. What about the rack, any special rack needed ?

Ans:

 

(saw info thread on ahboy, are the prices still relevant?)

 

2. What are the recommended safety upgrades? (tires, brakes?)

3. Is there anything that we can do to protect the fairings? (sliders & the likes of it?)

4. If I would like to change to after market exhaust, what are the options?

6. From images from Honda japan, it appears that the glove compartments are different from normal, is it ok to put IU into right side glove compartment?

(used to having a problem with carpark gantry with 1 of my bikes, worst is met one steep down hill (bike dryweight is 170kg, very difficult to reverse to adjust into position, and now gt400 is about 250kg, dont wanna face that scenario!)

 

7. Read in INFO thread about heavier bar end balancers, headlight protector, grips, switches, where to get/do them?

Ans: Givi Simply 46L ($120++) would be good enough. Otherwise, the Maxia ($300++). Anyway, any box will do except those square square type.

 

1a. What about the rack, any special rack needed ?

Ans: The box comes with base plate. Just need to drill a few holes on your SW rear spoiler for the base plate.

2. What are the recommended safety upgrades? (tires, brakes?)

Ans: Safety... different batches comes with different stock tires. Some are good while mostly cannot handle wet surface. Ride around for a few days test test. If need to change, Pirelli Diablo ($180++) or Metzler Feelfree ($230++) is good. The Honda Combine Brakes are good enough if you don't already have ABS.

 

 

3. Is there anything that we can do to protect the fairings? (sliders & the likes of it?)

Ans: Nope. Just ride carefully.

 

 

4. If I would like to change to after market exhaust, what are the options?

Ans: Should have LV or Arrow. Cost around $1k ++ for full system.

 

 

5. Is SW GT400 fitted with ABS?

Ans: Only you will know... because that is an option when you buy the bike.

 

6. From images from Honda japan, it appears that the glove compartments are different from normal, is it ok to put IU into right side glove compartment?

Ans: IU fits just nice in the right side compartment. No problem with detection.

Ans: Bar Ends... can get help from AC Motor.

No headlight protector for SW-T but you can fix the RACEshields from JuzzWheelzz at Bukit Merah.

Grips... Can buy the BMW grip direct from PML ($21++).

Switch modification... many bike shop also do but.... AC Motor better.
