hi, just to enquire another thing regarding engline oil.

 

how much do we usually use for X9? 5w40? cause at other thread i saw ppl actually say motorbikes should use higher such as 20w50, as motorcycle rpm usually higher compare to cars, so we have to use thicker EO, 5w40, 0w20 usually for cars.

 

i do need to change my engline oil very freq. no leak or something. every 2 months have to top up. but i haven't tried to top up, cause i don't know whether i can just top up like that or do i have to go change the Engine oil.

 

can we mix EO?

 

please advise!

 

Agent is using castrol fully syn, normally the rating will depend how long you change the oil.

 

personally i would advise min. 5/10- 40w onwards

For X9 engine, we normally use 10W40. normally 1L of engine oil is not enough for us. we will need 1.1-1.2L of engine oil(as according to Piaggio Chief Mech) how to know is the oil up the level?

 

Unscrew the oil drip stick and clean it. dip it into the hole(do not screw in) and check the level. It should fall right on the line +/- a little.

Of cos with 1L engine oil will still works but X9 LDR engine is quite a hot engine, I can`t afford to burn the engine.

 

 

1L of engine oil is confirm enough, you just need to top up abit more when you changing the oil filter, cheers

Normally we don`t top up. Or should we say it won`t need to top up.

the level won`t drop unless somewhere is leaking/engine is comsuming oil.

 

there's alway a need to check engine oil level. Even there's no leaking, sometime the engine oil level will also go low. This happen to few of us already, it may cause by some other reason.

 

Just talk about my own X9, there's once the engine oil level only left 300ml (when my bike was 7 month old), there's no leaking at all. After changing the engine oil, i check the lvl for the next 3 month > funny thing is that no shortage at all.

 

Is alway important to check engine oil level to prevent from burning your pocket

but seems like EO level will drop. 2 months ago is about 3/4 of the level.. now became 1/4..

 

i don think is leaking. will old engine comsume more EO?

yes it possible to become evo look, but it would not be cheap as quite some itme need to be replace.

Hi all, just change my water pump yesterday. but after changing the temp shoot up than higher before. 2 bars before red.

 

is it normal for new water pump?

 

or is it due to the hot weather recently?

 

 

Are you using the same coolant as before? did you check the temperture switch?

Budget and needs. If you need more storage, X9 will be your choice and can be had for under $3K. Check carefully so look before you leap ya...

 

Runner there's old and new so depending on your budget. If storage is what you need, then can forget about runner cos definitely lose out in this aspect and also smaller fuel tank.

 

Depending on the rider, both bikes will have no problem splitting lanes and take corners at Cameron - Mr Seaw can demo the latter for you if you want...

Is the water bleed properly? Sometime is due to air lock inside the hose.

2nd hand mirror? might be hard to find. try the scrap yard or ask the scooter workshops. u want the amalfi or evo mirror?

 

He is looking for amalfi mirror if i don`t remember wrongly. Last meet up he is the only 1 riding the amalfi.

Nice meeting you yesterday... just spoke to botak, your bike's thermosat spolit, he have replaced it and it seems ok now.... try test out again before look for him again.

 

And remember to check your coolant regularly next time.... don't wait till no water liao then see a "doc".... it can be very damaging......
