i saw that tire pressure sticker. but im not sure whether it is advisable to follow that cos for my car, tire pressure recommended found on the sticker, is a bit too low.

anyway, is it advisable to travel at speeds in excess of 75 80 while running in?

If the manual never say anything, best to keep below 5k rpm for 1st 1000 km.

After that it is gradual increase till max.

The Yamaha know that the fuel pump is faulty since 2008 but till 2011 are still fixing the same faulty fuel pump. They did not managed to identify precisely the faulty batch of pump. Did not issue a recall and only fix it when broken. so if no more warranty and spoil equal to you pay.

Yup they changed the pump (I hoped cause I wasn't around to see. They wrote a date on the fuel pump which I guess is their indication that they had changed)

Total time taken 2 days. Damage to my wallet $65 (tow truck) the rest under warranty claim.

Some sign to look out for.

- unusual loud fuel pump

- lose of power during acceleration

- worst scenario.. No sound of fuel pump when u switch on your bike.

My bike alsohad the same problema few mnths ago.Bike cranked but didnot start. also like you sent for tow trunk to bike shop but when i reach shop it actually started to fire up.

Today i had the same problem again, waited for about a few miutes later and the problem dissappeared.

Do not know whether i might be wrong. On both instances the tank was not full an odometer/ tripmeter was over 120miles.

Anyone have any hunch......? Hope to share.

Normally when you switch on your bike with the kill switch set to run, you should hear your fuel pump running. If there's no sound than it's going to be like my problem.

No leh this bike never pump Malaysia petrol before. But I don't think Malaysia petrol will harm the pump as all my previous bike are supporter of Malaysia petrol haha. Diesel I'm not sure ba.

I suspect is a design fault of the pump. Further more our pump and fuel tank is placed close above the engine enclosed by all the plastic that trap the heat. Many ppl complain the pump fail when the tank gets very hot which happen to me too.

Hi RayNg

How old is your bike may i ask? Still under warranty? Cos mine is registered in August 2009. Don't think i have warranty now? Nevertheless will make time to check at HL.

But if there is design flaw, changing to new one whether with warranty or not, won't the problem arise again after some time. Cos mine is only 1 year and 7 months old only.
