Change EO, oil filter n clean carb I usually DIY, cos I not young anymore....Any cost saving measures available I do :)

 

Dun say not young anymore lah.. make us feel like callin u uncle lah.. :lol:

I believe the above is essential to all bikers.. The basic that we can learn when everytym ask the mech to do for us... Saving costt is for the young and not so old :thumb: If those wanting to learn hands on.. Maybe can organize Oil Filter / Carb cleaning sessions.. Trial and error..

Coz i think if u wan to learn hands on at shops.. think they wont have time to entertain u... For me.. i trial error myself.."Pandai²" only.. but manageable lah.. :cheeky:

For stock carb,will replacing the main jet make any much difference in performance?

eh i was wondering ah. anyone ever used car engine oil on their bikes before? i mean get the viscosity thats the same and change it yourself ah. those 4 litre bottles will surely save u loadsa cash.

 

I using Redline 10w-50:thumb::thumb:...Shops usually dun recommend dat way, coz they'll lose 1 source of revenue $$$$

Well it depends on what u do to the bike already. There's an optimum air-fuel ratio. Too big a mainjet is not good also.

hello. i'm new to this thread, and i need you guys help.

 

guys, i have a major problem with my spark. i'm not sure what really went wrong. probably the piston or the gearbox is faulty.

 

1. my bike cant start, there's no compression when i kick start (piston seize/jam?)

2. i tried to push start, went to gear 1, and i can still push my bike, meaning that it's free-wheeling (gearbox?)

3. my cluth doesnt feel the same (clutch cable/spring?)

 

and my mistake was that, i did a burnout during an escort. it stopped half way, and my bike gave the problems, was wondering if anyone had this problems before.?

07/02/09 - present - Yamaha Spark 135 (Sparkie)

31/08/09 - present - Gilera Runner VXR 200 (RoadRunner)

yeahhh. probably the main problem is the clutch plates and piston. i doubt there's nothing wrong with the gearbox. you think? but then, gear 1 still can free wheel. piston seize the wheel should lock right?

 

and experienced riders, you have any idea how much roughly it would cost?

Kim,u using stock carb meh? :angel: I also intend to up my main jet and retune.

Its not actually cut, need to grind the black fork holder. Almost any shop can do it. =)

 

If you dont mind paying for a good job, go to Wing Yap. =)
