I am very please with the reliability so far, no "major" hiccups yet. Been to KL, Lumut, Malacca, Kukup and more to come. shunoski will be the man to tell you about this scoot as he seems like a hard core tourer.

Minor hiccups for me like vibration moving off (got lesser or i got use to it ha ha), High fuel consumption (for me only), Steering cone beginning to get stuck in the center- don't know how to explain) other than that it's fine.

Power almost enough. Touring cruising 120km/h, scooter's comfort zone and peak torque @6500rpm. Full throttle (130km/h-140km/h) with pillion for extended period of time( more than half and hour) also no problem........"yet" :p. Engine still swee swee, no funny noises. Power still there. Feel better power now with Motul 300V. Yup, the oil really not over rated :thumb:

Only problem is parts can only get from agent. Then again, i'll rather go back to them since they will be more familiar with Kymco scooters. There's always the internet for after market parts like brake pads.

The best place to find out about Kymco is the Taiwanese forum. All the good bad are discuss over there. They are very knowledgeable in scooters.

Almost everyday, there will be a Downtow/nikita discussion.

thanks for the inputs. How often do you change engine oil? I love Xciting 400i but if still wait so long maybe want to buy downtown 300i. But again... the looks for 400 more fierce. When I buy Kymco, i will join you all for a meet up. :) helpful pple... haha..

I use to change engine oil every 2000KM and oil filter 5000KM.

See the price of Xciting 400 first then you can decide to buy 300 or 400. Then again i would recommend the 400 for power and resale (although Kymco got no resale value here ha ha). Then again if people choose to buy 2nd hand, it'll be the 400 they'll be getting and of course the looks too. Have to agree the Xciting looks better. I wish the xciting 300 then have the downtown body or something better. Now they did the xciting head justice. Have to see the real thing though. I will not be moved..........i hope :p

If you wait wait wait then cannot wait anymore and buy downtown and xciting 400 came out the day you collect your scoot how? Sure bang ball one ha ha :D

Hey guys! Downtown 200i is in already =)

Displaying at macpherson showroom

No Pics?

Guess they all look the same. 125 200 and 300 ha ha.

Would be nice if can see along with other scooters.

It's the same with the DT300i - same speedo, same exhaust, same transmission cover even. Park side by side and the only diff is the 200i and 300i emblem on the front fairing. Haha.

At least DT125i can tell apart from the DT200i and DT300i....

But this sample unit will be going for LTA's homologation unit test. Actual shipment will come in October, which is next month.

At least the DT200i is in liao. Not like the Xciting 400i.... The boss, Herbert already send email to complain to Kymco Taiwan why they show the bike 1 year ago in Italy/ Milan during the EICMA 2011, and then 1 year on, still haven't produce the scoot....

Just bought a waterproof Hi-Fi 2.5inch speaker sound system from Wing Yap for $100. Volume ain't that bad! Comes with radio, alarm, USB and SD card slot.

Hope that it can play through my phone via USB.... Dun wanna always take in and out the SD card.... =(

The radio is pretty useless - mostly playing static....

How much will the downtown 200i cost? Kymco marketing is lousy... one year back show people then the bike still not in market until now. Disappointing..

There is no Grand Dink 200. Only Dink 200i. Grand Dink now is termed G.Dink, and for Singapore, we only got the 300i model (using the 270cc engine from the Xciting 300).

The difference between Downtown 200i and Dink 200i is one sky one earth. One is a maxi scooter, while the other is a small scooter, great for going around town and all. But expressway riding, especially going up north, is not really advisable. The underseat storage for Downtown can put 1 FF helmet and 1 Open face helmet with a set of raincoat, while the Dink 200i can only handle 1 FF helmet.

Huh?? How can?? I thought all the DT will come with top box one.

Well, MS/ Chong Aik is Shad distributor for Singapore already. They took over from LAB. New top box designs coming in.

I got my Coocase Reflex V50 from Chiap Lee@ Serangoon Rd for $200. The 48L box is $150.

Finally my bike run in liao. Tried to test its top speed but when my rpm reach 7k i felt the engine like very tight not as smooth as b4 7k.

This makes me phobia about going further.

Is the above normal? Anyone else encounter the above?

What concern you more?

1. looks

2.Reliability

3.Big storage space

4.parts

5.fuel consumption

6.low maintenance

7.re sale

8.comfort

9city or highway

10pillion comfort

11.accessories

12.popular

13.common

Don't know about dink200 but gts200 many many around singapore. Ask anyone who rides a gts200 about what you want to know. Shouldnt be difficult to find in carpark.

Dink can put things between you legs like cartons of drinks. Gts cannot but can stretch leg and relax ha ha.

Yes, the DT3 is like that too. 6500rpm(peak torque) very smooth until 7000rpm start to vibrate and rattles very strongly. that's about 130km/h for me. The floor board will start to vibrate like a strong vibrator for legs ha ha ha. Then if i go past that rpm or speed the vibration will be even out. I think its something to do with spinning frequency/harmonics of rotation. Something i anyhow say ha ha. Something like the dynabeads thingy(not related to how dynabeads work, just an example). where it reach certain rpm will vibrate like mad and even out as it spin higher or lower. Something like that :p

You may wanna wait for the new GTS/ JoyMax to be launched. SYM makes Class 2B 125cc FI for the GTS/ JoyMax.

I rode as a pillion on the Dink 200 before with the mechanic to get some parts. It's has more than enough power. It felt like DT125i but without pillion. Haha. Dink 200i also much narrower and smaller than GTS/ DownTown, so darting between stationary traffic is much easier too.

To me, it ain't fair to compare Dink 200i being a smaller scoot to Downtown/ GTS.

Each has its own advantage and design purpose.
