Thank you.

The hand guard does not come with lights, its DIY. The lights work as marker lights.

I find that it is much better/safer, bike with marker lights.

Hi mctan,

Give us your feed back after the next complete oil change, as most oil in the initial stage will be smooth - as you clock-in more mileage you can notice the difference in quality of the oil, to our air-cooled engine.

Whether it is the best oil or not and not forgetting it's base on the riding style too.

I'm not against any brand of oil as long it meets our requirement - for the air-cooled engine. If there's another one ~ we have an extra brand of oil to our advantage.

Stick to 15/50W for air cooled engines-if possible. "Year of engine manufactured to consider too".

Enquiry-

Anyone here change battery before? Is there a need to change the rectifier at the same time too? What are the symptoms of a dying battery? Lastly, how much does a rectifier cost?

Thanks.

Hi SilverGhost,

I believe you are a big fan of Motul 15/50w...Recently,I've changed my engine oil to 300v 15/50w Motul(Fully Synthetic) and my ride is heavier but smooth.Notice that it's not meant for speed riding but more of a long & cruise riding.Reason because it takes some time for me to reach a speed of about 200km/h compared to my previous oil(ESSO GOLD). However, engaging in gears is much comfortable now than before.

Do we really need to have a fully synthethic oil for our second hand bike? Can a semi-synthethic work just fine? If not,how much difference can we feel between the 2 of this?

Hi Blackangel,

You don't have to change the rectifier when you change the battery. The last time i change my battery, it died on me when i got problems starting...clicking sound but can't start at all, then i know that the battery is dead!

i can't remember what is the model of our battery...maybe custom or Sg can advice...but please change if your battery is about 3yrs old...

arrow shoot to me and sg :sian:

ok, u can get e battery at LAB, try to get brand like FB, which is make in Japan.

a decent battery can last u abt 2-3yrs. For my case, I change it every 2 yrs to prevent :giddy:

abt eo, it is up to personnal preferance.

semi syn and full syn different are:

1. higher flashing point and boiling point

2. more $ due to point (1)

3. last 2x the life span of semi-syn.

Y use syn oil...

lazy coz only need to change at around 10K km.

less wear and tear on engine as even at high temperature, the syn oil nature will still be there when compare semi syn of the same viscoity.

Generally speaking, high viscotiy = withstand higher temperature.

compare a 10W40(Esso Gold) and 15W50(Motul), the later hv a higher flashing and boiling point.

There are some trade off and personnal preferance of how u wan ur engine to be.

In general, ppl believe tat quite engine is better than noisy one but it is totaly wrong.

For 10W40, the oil can goes through all the engine parts in a faster speed compare to 15W50 becoz the oil is thin. Take note that abt 90% of engine wear and tear occurs during cold start and not after warm up.

like tat thin oil better protection right?

Wrong there is a dwn side of it.

When ur engine is left running in high temperature(traffic jam), thin oil will "burn off" faster.

So u hv to choose a oil tat is to ur riding style.

5W50, 10W50 and 15W50 are of different visocity.

U may use semi-syn if u think it serve the same function as syn one.

PS: there are someone, ex-divvy who prefer to use mineral oil as it suit his riding style.

knn-- type too much until finger cramp...
