Hi All!

I'm not a divvy owner, but I'm wondering whether there are any divvies for sale?

Preferrably XJ900 divvy, and especially white lion-headed ones.

How about the new XJ900 (>2010)?

How's divvy maintenance? I've heard that they were quite reliable

What are the common problems? Does its coil/rectifier die? Is the drive shaft problematic/weak?

Does the bike being air-cooled cause any problems?

How does the bike perform at high speed, or under hard braking/acceleration?

Thanks in advance for any advise!

2003 model will be the last batch of XJ900 divvy.

normal maintenance,

just 3200-3400ml of EO,

the oil filter (make sure you get from HLY), wrong oil filter will look for trouble.

the common problems?

i own coming 3 years, so far i only complain this bike is low tech, nothing much of

modern technology.....just ride & maintain.

coil/rectifier,non of us having problem, same design with car/truck's alternator.

drive shaft, non of us having problem.

air-cooled (with oil cooled assist )performed very well, maybe pillion will suffer a bit heat from the enjin.

top speed, if u dare, 240km/h no problem with standard fairing. (remember this bike not design for high speed and hi-performance)

braking, u may take some distance to stop.

acceleration, from 20km/h any gear can pump and go.

new bike still available, come with white lion-headed and side boxes,

but need MOQ & for enforcement agency only...

can check detail from HLY.

think most of the newer xj900 are from BHH, no longer from HL..

was wondering if we could tag along to BHH order for a XJ900P, but dekit away the blinkers, speed radar and sirens..

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

Thanks for all the advice and tips!

Its been 1 week already, enjoying my new old divvy...

I like how the bike accelerates well even at low rpm (compared to S4 Vtec), and feels slow/smooth at ~120kmph

This is my first tourer, so it feels kind of heavy/bulky/massive.

The bike is firm and stable under hard braking, but i've yet to practice ebraking.

I need to work on my low speed handling and u turning.

Anyone dropped the bike before? Are any of u guys able to uturn in gear 2?

The guy at BHH said they don't sell XJ900P to us, and no more XJ900S. didn't specifically ask about dekitting though.

HLY doesn't sell XJ900S too, according to the saleswoman.

dropped the bike? common for new onwer, drop few more time will get the hint, how to handle the bike.

U-turn at 2nd, depend on speed and size off u-turn.

Haha fortunately i've not dropped it yet... =X

Hmm how about u-turning at 2nd gear within 2 lanes of road? Like fig-8 diameter.

For me, its currently possible but have the no power/going to stall feeling, compared to say CB400SF/FZ6/XJ6. I learnt on FZ6 and XJ6.

I can now confidently use gear 1, and gear1+half clutch, to u turn within that area.

Hi ictm...welcome...been riding this wonderful bike for 4years...still luving it......

Hi, thanks!

Yes, really a joy to ride it!

Hmm, would like to hear from you guys:

Do you all do any preventive servicing/maintenance on things like chain tensioner, timing chain etc?

Anyone went for top overhaul after high mileage, but without any symptoms being present?

Or else what symptoms would show that the bike needs to undergo a major servicing?

Anyone replaced piston(s) or timing chain etc before, and the cost?

Do your engines make a tapping sound when idling, especially when cold? When revving, can't hear that sound above the engine noise.

Thanks!

Usually will check valve clearance & adjust if necessary at è same time replaced timing chain at 100k km interval
