Only can give suggestion for this one.... when bike cold start the idling is different from warm up... so what i used to do is adjust the A/F mix screw when engine is already warmed up with riding to suitable idling...

Downside is that when cold start need to maintain open throttle abit to warm the engine up.... or can use choke.

Thanks bro.

But the ability to easily start in the morning > high idling RPM when engine is warm.

Anyway, what may be the cause of this? Last time Shell fuel i don't have much of this prob leh. Use 95/98/V-Power easy to start in the morning and RPM when warm not so high... :(

@ crazydj:Maxima is a good engine oil..Normally ppl change fully syn engine oil every 5000km. But for your case, you say u change it every 1k so not worth it to get a fully syn engine oil.

?!?!?! bro, u mean as in like s4 change eo every 5k km coz it uses 3l?

my 2b bike i change every 2k - 2.5k km fully synthetic, motul 7100 10w40 - u mean can stretch til 5k?? o_O

Hi guys! I got a few questions to ask

1) When my bike from cold or if never turn on for more than 6 hours and i engage gear, the will be a loud "pak" sound. If from neutral to gear 1, my engine sometimes stall. To avoid this, i have to pump my clutch before i change gears.

2) When i start my bike, from cold or after a few hours, my idling is about 10k to 1.1k. After a 15 minute rough ride in the morning, my idling will be about 1.8k to 2k. What is wrong here? My engine feels very powerless and not smooth. This happened after Shell changed from Power 98 to Fuelsave 98. Could this be the reason?

Thanks guys!

dun think it's the fuel.

anyw, when's the last time u full serviced ur bike? mayb ur mech can advise more. i suggest addressing the loud "pak" sound soon b4 it becomes irreversible.

The loud pak somehow gets softer now. ANd it really helps if i pump my clutch first before i switch gear. Is this normal?

Hi guys, just want to find out if you guys experience similar problems.

it all started out if a minor problem.

while riding, the throttle wont have any response if i throttle it, but once i let it go and throttle again, it will all be ok. this happens about 2 weeks once.

suddenly , 2day while i was riding, the same thing happen. but i cant throttle any more, the rpm went to zero. had to stop and restart bike again, then it was ok. it happened again shortly after restart.

after that it was ok after restarting.

a total of 2 times my bike came to zero rpm while riding.

anyone know the diagnostics? or Faced similar problems?

s4 more pistons more wear, more things to lubricate. Anyway synthetic is meant to change at 5k and over. else just get mineral oil if u planning to change at 2.5k.

I change every 3k just cos my manual states so and cos mine doesnt have an oil filter. So i would use mineral oil but my bike shop only has synthetic so just use the cheapest synthetic lor lol~

My YBR got that problem but rare. Sounds like its time to service your carb. Its like you open throttle and then it choked. Just go and check with you mech la! :)

Wanna get my 2nd bike aft i been riding wave R for 4 yrs...anyone care to recommend which one is better? YBR 125 or CBF 150?

CBF 150. IF i were to go back in the past, i would still get a YBR.

so crazydj, u recommend to get YBR 125? I still surveying for YBR 125.suddenly CBF 150 comes into my mind. The shape of CBF 150 abit wide than YBR 125 rite?

No... I recommended the CBF150. But between both of them, i still prefer the YBR. Both are butt-ugly bikes. The question is, which is less ugly. And to me the YBR is less ugly with its alien baby head.

I do not know about the CBF150 but i know for the YBR125, its a very crude machine. Parts so easy to get, little maintenance and cheap running costs. I pump petrol twice a month, havent changed spark plug for about 6 months, engine oil fully syntheitc never change 4 months. Everyday i ride the bike. No complaints. My bike mileage is about 92k, 92,000KM. Never overhaul engine before. A true workhorse i might add.

Its a nice looking big bike, very stable at higher speeds or cornering but really horrible pick-up. But its fine with me really. I laugh at my friends when they complain about their SP or KR got problem, cannot start, so expensive to maintain, all that nonsense. Ultimately, you got to ask yourself what you want in a bike. I got the APEK look when i riding, so TP/ROV dont really bother. I was doing 70km on some road at CCK and the TP didnt say anything. Its either my speedo spoil or they dont even bother to stop me bacause my YBR cannot speed anyway. Top Speed, 110km/h. Slow and pathetic and not to mention butt-ugly. But those are the only bad points. In terms of maintenance and such, its a winner. :cheer:

Yup its okay. I remember many of my friends telling me that one thing. If the bike doesn't give you any probs, don't fix it. In other words, if the bike got no problems, dont send to shop to clean the carb la, to do an overhaul la. My bike 92k never gone for overhaul before. Its because once you open the crankcase and everything, it wasnt in the original condition that kind of thing.

I believe that a system corrects itself in due time. So if no problems with the bike, don't do anything. Just your basic maintenance is okay.

Anyway give us more info about your bike la. How much? First or second hand? Etc. :)

971?so expensive? before ybr,u ride wat bike? total=3.7 k?

$971 3rd party because i was only 19 when i got my bike, YBR classified under "Yamaha Others" and was still probation plate. My first bike.

And the total is 2.8k, including insurance. So without insurance would be about 1.9k. But YBR is a very boring bike. Slow, underpowered. But... you will never worry about maintenance. Cheap.:cheeky:

Well, the truth is, the YBR is not problematic. Its a simple crude bike. So there won't be any YBR club where you can share common problems and stuff. Its just like any bike out there. The best would be to go to the nearby market and talk to the apek-apek regarding your bike. Well, thats what i did! YBR is apek to the max. Haha. But if you got anything wrong you can share with us here. We may know how to help you solve your problems man. :)

haha.. I still think if it isn't giving any problem, or significant differences in the way the bike behave, just leave it ba. After all, we're riding an bulletproof bike, don't think my dad and his lao friends got bother with their rxk during his days also. :cheeky: Probably just ask your mechanic during OC when you feel it's long enough, lol.

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.

I have a very weird bike.

I never use the choke. Never. But whenever i try to turn on the bike with the choke on, it will NEVER START.

If the engine is turned on and i turn on the choke, my engine will die.

Its not that i am complaining or anything. I will never need to use the choke. Its just that why is this on happening on my bike?

Go check if your fuse is in the process of getting burnt.

The fuses in your bike are designed to sustain the electrics....

If you see that the electrics fail and come back again,it will be the fuses coming to it's lifespan...

Get your rectifier checked as well.It may be one of the primary reason as to why your fuses are burning up...

Cheers
