Hey guys, Im only 1.58M and I thought of getting a Aprillia SX 125 or anything SM. Any chances of me bringing a SM? Can the suspensions be shorten so that I can ride it? I dont really know much bout scrambler/SM bikes here. So, I might need some enlightenment here. Thanks! :cheeky:

its not the ride..its the rider.. as the saying goes..

Hi rowley..For yur height, i think yu shudnt have a huge problem.yu just need to lower abit the bike. Some riders wld adjust their suspension, linkage or shave the seat foam. Perhaps yu might wana check out XR125L. Its an entry level scram. There's a dedicated thread for that model. Do some research from the web and read-up previous posts in that thread. Think this particular topic has been answered many times.

Good luck. Happy reading and researching.

xr125, xr 200, husky 125 are some of the options.

i m 1.56m, i tried xr 125 and 200 before, the height it's ok. the suspensions are adjustable.

personally, i m riding a ktm 200. shorty front fork, stock rear shock, set up for dirt (which is usually higher than mortard set up). i must admit it is a bit high for me. both my feet can't reach the ground when i sit on it. initially, had some difficulty with the height, but overtime, i m getting the hang for it.

To spicy23: Thanks for the recommendation! But wouldn't it look funny if the suspension is lowered to suit my height with those dirt wheelsets? Looks kinda like a low rider. LOL. Is XR125L legal to be converted into a motard?

To juvena: From what Ive read from forums, Husky SM125 tends to get overheated easily and their spare parts are difficult to find? True? Same here as spicy23, are XR's legal to be converted into motards? How bout KTM 125/200?

To deckard: TW200? I once was thinking about owning it and modifying it to look more vintage-like, but I was influenced by my friends to get other scrams. Hehe. Thanks for the suggestion anyway!

i m not too sure about husky 125. but i guess xr parts are more easily available.

not too sure about legal issue about motard settings because my ktm 200 is done up for dirt which is hardly legal.

Hi Rowley,

I know a few friends who ride Husky 125sm and they like the bike. Must take care of it well like other bikes. Spare parts are a lil pricey but its a euro bike thats y. I tried the bike before at its normal height, and im gonna get 1 end of this month when i pass. My height is 1.69m.

Yes, u can convert KTM 200 into motard. Ive seen on the road and there is one guy at my workplace who use it too. XR125 is a good bike also. Easy for beginners, affordable and easy to maintain. Loois motor sells them. I considered it as my choice also but Im choosing Husky because of its look and performance (faster pick ups) and its within my budget. :) Also, if i have any problems i can ask my friends abt it.

Juvena, respect you girl. At ur height, i wonder how u handle KTM200. :D

sorry for the late reply. long time nv log in liao. i dun tink yu need to adjust the suspension shud yu get the bike @ the height yu are standing. A gerlFwen of mine ride it without adjusting her suspension (except shaving off her seat foam to the max..hehek) and stood only at 1.49m.. well.. many wld say shaving off the seat to extremes makes the bike look yucky... but heck..who cares! As long as the rider loves her ride and riding it!

C'mon bro.. Juvena can (mind yu,KTM is far more higher in height than XR125L).. my gfs can.. SO CAN YU!

For true offroad capability.

KX100 Big Wheel version

Great bike handles a wide range of rider sizes easy to start and reliable Don't know if they can be had in SG. I'm from California. Add a Steahly Flywheel Weight to tame it down if needed. But it is pretty torquey for an MX bike.

Or a KDX 200 little taller and bigger but a true endure and be lowered easily with a lowering link.
