New one should be around 160, I got 2nd hand one for 80, works well for me. Coolant leak can be many things, maybe your coolant reservoir too much coolant then it leak, that's normal. Maybe one of your coolant hose has a hole or a clip is loose.

I know it's typo I just disturb him, haha. Anyway dun mind me asking you just got your fireblade is it? Compared to 2b bikes, the blade can get pretty hot around the thighs. Is the temp meter also more then half way or something? If the temp meter is still around 1/4 or 1/2. Then it's ok, coz a good coolant will dissipate the heat from the engine to the surrounding fast, so your legs feel hot but your engine is still in optimum operating temp. About you radiator fan, maybe your fan switch is spoil? Easy way to see if it's still working, unplug the wire that is connected to the switch and let that wire touch the small strip of metal to the right of it, if it's working the fan will switch on. DUN DO THIS WHEN YOUR BIKE IS HOT, you will most probably burn yourself. Best to test when your bike is cool, i think no need start bike to test also, just turn ignition to on will do.

just back from viewing 636.. lol.. haiz..really tempting.. but will get my class 2 and also at the same time slowly scout around first..

one way to check...

start bike in a well lit space..

warm the bike up..

check for leaks like the hoses, pump, rad and even coolant reservoir..

keep the engine run til the fan is switch on..

if after a few cycle of fan auto switching on and off and coolant flowing out from the excess tube, change the rad cap.

take note that the cover of the reservoir must be intact and gd condition too..

Riding temp 3/4 like not very normal. Fan switch is supposed to be auto, but it can be faulty mah. When the temp is 98 to 103 degrees the fan is supposed to on, i think it's about 1/2 on the meter. For my bike when riding the normal temp will be 1/4. When idle for long on some traffic lights, it will hit 1/2 that's when the fan will kick in. You can also consider changing to a better coolant like maxima coolaide.

ya underseat.. dunwan a R6 or cbr6 coz very common on the road..will try out 636 first after that den slowly look for vtr..

lol.. just happen that the buyer agreed to buy price.. den jsut nice also my friend who took very great care of his 636 wanna sell... think this is a good time la.. not enough cash on hand to keep my blade.. so no choice..

tat's very adnormal.. my blade normal crusing temp around 1/4 only.. and my coolant change/ topup every 6 months.. a lot of posibilities like wad Aalex said.. maybe ur coolant hose old liao.. or leakage.. etc..

good evening.. just reached home from touring the whole day todae.. total about 30 over bikes went.. went wif Group Madako for durian feast.. after that went to some ulu beach in the east of Malaysia.. was a nice trip yesterday although some part hiccups and i almost fell asleep sweeping behind haha...trip was enjoyable especially warming up at the beach in the sea when it rained was a very nice experience something u cant try in singapore.....looking forward to the next malacca trip and lake sini trip......

my fan is manual, so i cant rely too much assumption.

my temp keep going up till more than 3/4, almost red when i stop, temp increase very fast, but once i throttle, the temp will go back middle, and when riding, will go back 1/4. coolday advise me mayb is the fault of radiator pump. Any advise frm anyone ?

 

my engine sound louder now, much louder than the previous time.
