hi guys, ive got a question to ask.. jus got my fireblade L model.. hmm.. why is it whenever i switch my headlights to the higest and i press the engine start button no sound of engine starting up.. but.. when switch on the middle or the off.. it can start .. ?? sry for the noob question.. jus find it wierd.

Need help..

 

i just bought a cbr and found the head gasket to be worn..

changed it myself over the weekend and now the bike cannot start.

all 4 plugs firing fine.. i think maybe i screwed up with the camshafts alignment or something(though i followed the manual word for word) cos it keeps backfiring.

i aligned the T in the timing inspection hole to the alternator, bringing piston 1 and 4 to TDC and placed the camshafts such that the 'IN' mark on the intake camshaft and the 'EX' on the Exhaust camshaft is the right way up and on the outside of the respective shafts, inline with the head surface..

 

Would it make a huge difference if i was off by a tooth on the cam gears?(i think i set it just right)

 

Or could it be a totally different issue?

carbs eh.. overflow?.. cos i just cleaned it and the overflow pins and stuff were fine..

 

Or this whole problem surface cos i oiled the cylinder walls abit while i was in there..and it takes some time before oil gets burnt off for proper firing???

Bro, I was told that R-model harness cannot fit the L-model headlight switch(the left hand side switch assembly). Is this true? :confused:

 

 

 

Use 12V 35W/35W, fx110 intro me one, very good one. :thumb:

 

is due the pole lights assembly..

R model dun hav pole lights while L model do..

unless u wanna cut off the socket and join it yrself..

but this will defy the purpose..

backfire due really related to carbs..

the timing of the valve do play a part..

is due the pole lights assembly..

R model dun hav pole lights while L model do..

unless u wanna cut off the socket and join it yrself..

Oh ok. I'm asking coz, mine is a L Model, plan to change the harness, the mech told me that no more production for L Model harness. Only can change to R Model Harness and if like this must change to R model headlight switch assembly also.

 

I'm also hovering over the idea of changing the harness myself. :cheeky:

He was saying, he want to try to do a compression check to see if the pistion ring is already worn out or not. But now motor cannot start. (something like that, my knowledge of berhasa is "half past six" only... like in hokkien can say "half a bucket of sh|t") :cheeky:

And if I want to DIY myself, I wun be doing it now bah. Now I already halfway doing another project. Wait till it finish. :cheeky:

The correct person to look for to do your harness is bro fx110, he redo his wiring with those high quality wires. Looks very professionally done. :lovestruck::thumb:

Wow. Mebbe if the OEM harness is cheap, both of us can get one each and then go pester fx110 together... haha. I buy the dinner, you buy a round of drinks. :cheeky:

 

Today i took a look at my wirings and almost fainted. I'm getting worried about riding in the rain with all the filmsy reconnections, shabby rework and general mess accumulated throughout the twelve previous ownerships... Its a miracle I still have electricity. :faint:

 

It still works fine though (able to start engine at 9.6V, engine idling at about 10.7v, and running to 12.2V... low, i know) hopefully a change in battery will improve it, otherwise the old wiring (and getting older) could be the culprit.

less than 1½ year owning the CBR400RR:cheeky:

i am still on learning:)

 

just realize that the CB400 PB1 and the CBR400RR NC29 using the same CDi socket(same CDi wiring.....), but CB400 cut off at 12500RPM, NC29 L model was cut off at 15500RPM........:angel:

bro , you changin battery ? i jux change my headlight , tho i feel no diff in brightness , jux that it's white . my voltage can nv get to 14V . i am thinkin of changin one . you know the price of it ?

 

btw , do the change of a new white headlight cause my current battery to go weaker ? wil it in any way harm my rectifier too ?
