bro , you changin battery ? i jux change my headlight , tho i feel no diff in brightness , jux that it's white . my voltage can nv get to 14V . i am thinkin of changin one . you know the price of it ?

btw , do the change of a new white headlight cause my current battery to go weaker ? wil it in any way harm my rectifier too ?

I haven't check the price yet. Tommorrow heading down to LAB to pick up a new windscreen (I took over my bike with a cracked windscreen, and LAB say got black colored ones coming in Wednesday.. hehe :p). Will probably see how much they sell batteries there too.

How many watts are your new bulbs and old bulbs? If same watts, the color temperature doesnt matter, same load on your electrical system as the old ones. Low voltage can be several reason, old battery being common... the rest like degraded wiring, rect/regulator, or even coil problem will be more headache to replace... I'm just crossing my fingers and changing the battery first see how.

Nope.. Gonna try to troubleshoot later.

I did it in a mscp actually..

whole bike stock.

good morning guys

did the troubleshooting yesterday..

found the plug connector 3 and 4 to be accidentally switched..

firing sequence for CBR is cylinder no. 1,2 4 then 3

so if u guys ever change spark plugs next time, do take note of which plug cap goes to which cylinder

minor mistake that caused starting problems..

my bike now running great

left to do is carb balancing..

nt saying u la.. hahaha.. sianz.. my wave110 fuel on/off switch screws broken.. just now from jurong all the way back to yishun my fuel leaking like free flow.. now bike cannot start liao.. tomorrow gotta go bike shop early in the morning den pia to work straight after tat.. :(

i noe...just covering my own aS 1st wahaha.....i very selfish one save myself first u dunno meh.....wahaha

my previous and the new headlight voltage is same ,12v 60/55W . i am goin down to my shop tmr to ask on the battery and why doesnt it hit 14V .

thought the normal voltage is between 12.1-13.8...this is the reading i been getting on my voltmeter ever since i change the batt....no problems met...the battery charges....only when i off light den it will hit 14v when i am riding....

shitty morning with the rain . idk abt the battery and i wil be goin down check it out . btw , you guys usin digital or analog volt meter ? price ?

Bro, if you want to check yourself this is what you can do:

Testing Alternator Coil

1) Turn fuel off unplug the fuel hose(get ready some cloth as there are bound to be some spill) and remove the tank.

2) Now that the tank is off, you will see alot of wires, look for the RED socket.

3) Unplug the red socket and set your multimeter to ohms.

4) There will be three connectors inside the red socket, use your multimeter and take three reading off them, meaning there is point A, B and C. Take readings of AB and then AC lastly BC. All the three reading should be between 0.1 to 0.5 Ohms.(If you cannot read anything try setting the ohmmeter to ohm x1 scale) Do this to the connector leading to the coil NOT the wiring harness connector.

5) Now put one of the meter probes in one of the three connectors and the other in ground(can be batt ground or any ground points you know) the meter should read infinite ohms (meaning open circuit) do the same for the other two connectors.

6) If all the three reading are within 0.1 to 0.5ohms and there is no continuity between any of the three connectors and ground, your alternator coil is still good.

Rectifier/Regulator Test

1) Take off the seat and the back fairings

2) Set your multimeter to DC voltage with a range of volt x50. Start the bike, after the bike has warmed up properly, connect the probes to the batt and rev to 3000rpm check if the charging voltage is between 14-16V.

3) Turn off the engine and remove the rectifier from the socket. Set the multimeter to ohms and following the table below take readings off the pins. + is using the red meter probe and - is using the black meter probe. If all the readings are within the table, your rectifier is fine.

If you lazy or dunno what the hell i'm talking about go buy the batter/coil checker fx110 mentioned. :cheeky:

If you check everything then still not charging well, can be your wiring problem. The most common problem that I know of is the wiring at the rectifier socket area gets burned off as there is too much heat produced.

Also got some procedures to check the wiring harness, but I'm too lazy to type lioz. :cheeky:

(I'm half-lazy, half-no confident in dismantling and locating one "red socket"... I better buy the battery checker.) :cheeky:

Oh.. perhaps next time for coffee then. I'll need to fix and check a number of things today (still a long list to go) so I better start early... after postponing everything to sleep through the wet morning. Feels shiok but guilty.. haha.

Can contact me anytime at "ninety-seven, five oh nine, four oh nine".
