either your chain and sprocket gone liao.. eg.. your sprocket teeth gap becomes a V sign instead of U.. or either chain is too tight.. or just spray just chain lube cause too dry.. you hope that it's the latter one.. lol

tight or loose??

or try pushing the chain, see can hit yr swing arm??

if can, tighten the chain..

if tighten chain to the max, still too loose.. hav to change the spocket and chain.

hey guys.. when im on free rolling.. i can hear my chain sound.. from the side , the chain is like bouncing up and hitting the top tats y got this sound.. is it my chain got prob or chain loose?

U take the bottom part of the chain, try to twist it up and down, if it is very hard or u feel friction, then its time to change the chain. It jumps bcos when it try to wrap round the sprocket, the chain is not flexible to form the circle round the sprocket enuf maybe due to lack of care and the internal lubrication is spoilt or chain inside is rusty. So it doesnt form round the sprocket smoothly and when the wheel motion force and pull it in, it jump into position onto the sprocket and u hear the tuck tuck sound.

Go to bike shop, take a old chain and a new chain and u will see new one is very flexible and old one is very stiff. If lucbrication can do the job and sprocket teeth is still ok, then u can carry on to use with frequent lubrication, but that doesnt garantee it will not snap. Maybe one day it snap and your pillion feet may be hurt.

If change, change front and rear sprocket and chain together.

base on wat?

when u accelerate the trottle, u feel the power comes in steps instead of one shot come together smoothly. Either the carb not synchronised or the firing of the spark plugs got problem. I have not changed spark plugs yet.

For Fireblade have to split the crank cases to change which makes it a much bigger job with higher labour costs.

i asked around and was told that piston rings for the fireblade can only be changed with the entire top block. i heard that the piston rings are not sold individually.

Nah that's rubbish, not sure what you mean by "top block".

If you mean the head then that is a lie you don't replace a head when doing the rings.

If you mean the barrels that that is also a lie as the barrels are part of the crank cases on the Fireblade and not seperate like on hurricane so you can "replace" them as such.

Anyway you can buy the rings from any Honda place that knows how to order spare parts.

It is a high labor job on the NC29 though and it is worthwhile doing the pistons and rings at the same time, while the engine is apart. You can also buy the pistons and rings together from Honda and its slightly cheaper than buying them seperately most of the time.

Hope that helps you, don't let bike shops lie to you, if you want can pm me and I will give you details for the guys who do my bike.

I use Silkolene EO fully syn - $20 per bottle

semi syn cost $18

Change EO roughly between 3-5k.

If jus changing the EO, 3 bottles is enough. Change the oil filter then u'll need to pay for 4 bottles when u actually only use 3.++ litres. Keep the remaining so tat the next time u change the filter again u no need to get 4 bottles.

(Don keep the first unfinish EO till the next changing of filter. Hope u know wat i mean. )
